I finally met up with my buddy and his M3 which he swore would take me..
It was a little after midnight,we were both at a red light with an open road ahead, clear of any traffic. It was so bad that I had to put on my Hazards to signal good bye.

How do you know he was racing?
When the truth comes out in court you can apologize or point fingers but save it until then.

I don't condone street racing but it is simply not appropriate to do that to another board member even if you are trying to prove a valid point. You sir are acting like a jack-a**!

Hey Needle D*ck..., if you don't like it, get the hell of the Board, plain and simple.

Yes street racing is not right...in traffic, but on open roads, I am the first one there. Using another members picture to get your point accross is not good sportsmanship. I am sure he already feels the guilt and all the pressure ahead, no need to put more, instead try doing it the right way Moron. The nerve of some people.

Hey LIGHTEN up francis:

Yes, I can understand the idea of SAVING it for the track, and YES if you were hit by one of them throw the book at him and SUE as we all know you would. But having a little fun on a deserted road as he said SHOULD NOT be a jailable offense. Live and let live, he knew the repercusions of his actions when he stepped on the gas.

See yeah

PS: I guess you bought a 400+ HP car to obey all posted speed limit signs

We buy these cars to go fast. BlueMax didn't properly control the circumstances of his alleged "street race" and an innocent person died. Tragic, but none of us know all of the facts and for all we know it could have been the victim's failure to yield to oncoming traffic that caused the accident. I personally would never speed on anything other than a highway, but obviously the OP made sure no one else was around when he initiated his race.

Regardless, there is no need for anyone, especially a newbie, to blast someone for participating in a speed contest when speed is the essence of this forum. If you don't like it, grab yourself a Prius and enjoy your gas mileage.

How's that M5 treating you buddy? Are you strictly in the P500 club now?

Treating me better than good. I must say it's the best car i've ever owned and I wouldn't change a thing about it. As soon as she's up to temp I slot into P500, EDC normal and S5. I think P500S is a little too much for inner city L.A.

However, I'll be full on attack mode when I meet up with Thericker. We're trying to get a fwy run organised for some time this month. Some say D5 is the way to go but I would've thought S6. What's your view?

I say S6 when you're really well versed with the redline, which as you know by now comes up on you very quick. Bounce off it and your race is over, bang the gear at the exact instant and you're a hero. I'd get some practice in first, but my M button is set for full blast S6/EDC Super Sport/P500 Sport. Go into the menu and make sure you select P500 SPORT, it will make the throttle so touchy that it's almost telepathic.

I think the E46 M3 is one of BMW's best looking and fun to drive cars but come on, Beating an E55, you need an active autworkes supercharger in the M3 to even come close to the E55.
