That's understandable. I reeeeally like the new CL, but there is no way I would buy one knowing how bad I'd lose my *** if I bought one. I'm with you on not wanting the old body style though. It looks really outdated next to a new one, but that's the reason they are so cheap.

He told me some some of the auctions offer a mechanical inspection service for an extra $100 or so. This and an extended warranty would save some headaches down the road.

I'll probably do this for my next one.
Most dealers, if you are a cash buyer, will charge a minimal fee on top of the auction price of the car if you do find a car at auction.

However, that is only a small percentage of sales. Most of the time, the dealer has to purchase the car (using his floor plan financing) and then has to show & store the car for unknown period of time with the hope that the car will sell. That is why they will mark up the car 10-15% from auction price to cover their expenses plus salesperson commission.

If you see the one for 44K miles, it sold for 51K, that is the one listed in florida under ebay, they are selling it for 59K, I called the dealer yesterday making them an offer for 54K and told the guy how much they bought it for, he got pissed and asked me how the hell I found out what they paid for it...I told him I have my secrets, he did not want to talk to me after that. What an idiot.....

Can you get these cars for these prices if someone was interested?

I was at the Dealership in SD yesterday and there was a white CL65, designo PKG for 210K... The car is INSANE looking!! I love the quilted leather seats.

Sure, just have to find yourself a dealer you trust and that would be wiling to take you to the auction or do the actual bidding for you.

I am trying to find a white CL...but they are rare man. It's like a needle in a haystack. I think you will have a better chance of hitting the lotto then finding one in the auctions. lol!!!

This car was listed today from fletcher Jones in Las vegas, NV...I guess they don't know the auctions prices. They are in for a big surprise, it has low mileage none the less.

Why I like to buy new models...Cause if I invest money in the car I want it to new model for as long as it be....So I buy used 221 S65 spend lots of money, I will dive it drive for 3-5 years and moded it and have fun knowning that its still best luxury sport sedan and its up to date model...Where us buying old model cheap and moding it and everyday knowing that there is something better already , no its not for ME...and I wont be able to enjoy it for such a long time...cause its outdated...+ I had S600 (not TT before - expensive to run, to much problems with suspension on our roads) and CL is basically the same...

Mig...If i where you I would buy the CL for 60k with has 18k miles or something like this...I think it worth this 10k diff btw 44k miles...
