The compression ratio is the same.
Last I heard it should go something like this, but if I'm wrong I'm sure Vadim will let us know...
The first dyno will be the VR750 Kit which includes: the 5.7L Bottom, Stage 3 Heads w/Bigger Valves and Cams, Crank Pulley, 80mm Throttle body, Phenolic Spacers, CF Airbox and Tubes, Cooling kit, Xtreme Belt Wrap Kit, LongTube Headers, Straight Pipes, and bring it all together with a Custom ECU Dyno Tune.
After that tune, Vadim will then add the twin turbos and tune it to see if we can increase the boost.
Oh, and by this time the Intercoolers should be completed so we will throw them on as well..

We're going for a twincharge setup and will not scrap the blower.

Its going to be a little bit of a slow pace now with this motor cause we dont want to muck it up..
We are going to put some Joe Gibbs Break-in race oil into the engine, run it for 300miles, change out the oil and refresh with Break-in oil again.. Drive another 700miles to get to 1,000.. At that point we will start tuning it and get some dyno time..
It will stay with the break-in oil until it hits 2,500miles at which point we'll dump and refresh with a good quality synthetic.
Once we have finalized the tune and are happy with the numbers, we'll slap the 2 rear-mount turbos on it and start tuning again..
When all is said and done, we are hoping to be in the 900hp range with this car in street trim... The goal is to hit 1000hp, but, I am not sure if that will be practical for the street.. We'll see.....

Considering you will be supercharged and turbo'd why did you not opt to lower the compression? Wouldn't lower compression allow you to run more boost safely?

We could always use another good set of hands.
If you are ever down in that neck of the woods, make sure you stop by.. there are always a few interesting toys parked around the building.
The idea is to take away boost from the front (S/C) and go back to a smaller crank pulley and add more boost at the back. The S/C will be used to get the car moving. At 3,500RPM all hell will break loose... ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
The SLR is at 8.8:1 vs our 9:1 if I remember correctly. I am sure we are somewhere in the 8.9:1 range now.
That's what I was afraid of.. The compression did drop very slightly from the porting but it was negligable.

Just wanted to give you guys an update...
We were waiting on a set of spark plugs to arrive.. Those came in today.. I think everything is on schedule to fire it up on Friday... Can't wait..
The break-in will take a while.. hopefully we can clock those 1,000miles quickly..
More to come...

All kidding aside, how are you guys gonna break it in??? Don't wanna have this thread go off the rails (can be a heated debate), but I keep seeing guys that drive it like they stole it to breaking it in consistantly put down more hp than guys that broke um in the way Benz recommends.
Just curious.
Looks great guys!!

An engine is like a women’s flower box! Before deflowering it is recommended to take it slow....warning warped mind approaching!!!
Damage can a cur from components not been broken in properly and introduces force break in, leaving clear marks on the cylinder banks.
How you break it in and how hard you do it can also affect future use & compression & may lead to sever leaking

Clearly I am right and need to find a beach soon

p.s I recall reading that our engines are broken in from AMG prior to us receiving them, and that the break in we are doing is for various components like transmition and moving parts etc. Not sure if this is 100% but makes sense…

Sorry for the hold up guys, but I had Vadim refinish my HREs, then we found out that all 4 were bent...
Hey Victor, I'm having Vadim install new rubbers in the rear and I have a feeling by the time this thing is tuned, they will be slicks. Perhaps you should include tires with your packages!

I agree!! With my sport bikes, I always broke them in hard, and would continue to do so if I purchased a new vehicle/had engine work done.......
