Dumped the CL65 and picked this 997TT up (pics)
Well after 7 years of continuous Benz ownership I am actually no longer an owner of a 3 star luxury auto. I recently got rid of my CL65 (thank god, it was a depreciation trap) and picked up this 997TT last week.
I figured Id post it here since most of you know me and some us go all the way back to 2001 when I first joined the forums.
Red yes and its not for everyone but in this case I find it quite appropriate. Here are some of the mods:
HRE P40's with PS2 Tires (19's), Euro bulbs and makers plus 3000k hid fogs all courtesy of Harbor Motorsports.
GMG exhaust, sways, and springs thru Fabryce at GMG and some major help from our good Russian friend Vadim (VRP).
I also had Rawlings Audio hook up the satellite and bluetooth. Can you believe these cars dont come with bluetooth or satellite radio? Coming soon will be software, plenum, and maybe headers. It is a tip but thats fine for me, I need a good stop light racer![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Congrats and welcome to your next depreciation trap....only this one will be worth every penny!
The 997TT is about the ultimate all around monster and a killer replacement for the CL65. It is about the best all weather daily driver out there. You got a great color combo and the exclusive options on the car are will picked.
A great story...one of my friends from Switzerland took delivery of one of the first 993TT's in '96 to his residence in Boulder. It arrived in late '95 if memory serves and he showed up in the snow with the dealer installed snows on it to my house. Not something that you will have to worry about where you live but a Porsche TT can lay down some serious power in the snow.![rolf](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif)
Now it is time to join Rennlist (if aren't already a member) and get a tune on that baby.

Well lets put it this way --- I bought it brand new in 2006 as an 05 model for 100k on an invoice of 169k. At that time they were selling for 130 to 135k at the auction with low miles. Today those same cars are now in the 60's and 50's with higher miles (30 to 50k). If you get a low miler you might pay a little more but either way, the CL65 is THE softest car in the market IMO. Its great for the 2nd or third owner but its a sad sad story for those who paid MSRP or higher or even invoice when they first came out.

that's the sad thing about MERC. the value drops so hard now days that you better like the car because it will be hard to get out of. the same thing happened to a friend of mind with a cl55. got for 105K and 6 months later it was worth 60K with hardly any miles on around 6k.

x10. Be careful, they are VERY addictive. Avoid the slope... it makes MBZ parts prices seem reasonable. ![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
And I know what you mean about value. I sold a 1990 C2 with 110,000 on the clock and bought the CLK and had a pile of cash left over. Both sold for about the same price when new.
