opinion needed on purchase of semi-new 07 e63

Found a vehicle to my desired spec sheet in NorCalifornia.

2007 White/blk E63 with 2758 miles on it.

spoke with the owner and they seem to be high profile vehicle owners.
the reason they are selling it is in wait for another high profile vehicle, and that they do not drive it much.

they indicated they are unsure of the e63 buyers market and wanted to get a head start before too late, and realize there are other e63s out there for less money, so they are not needing to sell the car, but will for the right price. that means the deal should be ripe for both of us. they are asking appx 82k$

essentially car is brand new with * 2758 * miles on it. no accidents, 1 original owner, has never seen rain and has been garage kept since ownership. they indicated they followed the 1k mile engine break in period ( i would have broken it in a little differently but oh well)

the car was purchased directly from MB in December 2006, (i have a vin number incase anyone thinks they can use it to get more info on the car for any benefit). they indicated the orig oem sticker price was 93k with clear armor and some other things (appx 1800$ additional to their price). also they indicated the registration was just paid a few weeks ago. another plus i guess.

my question is firstly, what is the general consensus/opinion on this asking price, understanding ill have to pay california state tax and other fees at dmv.

should i be looking for later manufactured date vehicles in 2007 instead of picking up a 2007 model that was made before Decem 2006? what problems exist in earlier models / mfg dates?? I am unaware of anything specific but thought i saw some posts where forum members were recommending a later mfg date (indicated in the Vin # i believe) .

also does anyone know if you MUST have california state motor insurance, or can you operate a vehicle in california with another insurance policy from another state?

car looks pretty damn meticulous.

so what do you folks think?

thanks in advance.

The problem is that MB started heavily discounting the new cars with up to 10-15K off retail ... so you can basically get a new one at or very near that price.

E-ZGO 53hp., 1999 E 430 sport, 2004 E 55, 2008 Tahoe LTZ on 24"s
$82K is new 08 E 63 money.
You drive it off the new car lot -20% off MSRP so mid 70s.
And really who sells a car with 2800 miles after a year? that is a flag to me. Even dealers run the demos to 6K miles.
Hundreds of new E63s in southern Cal. with discounts.

The car is under warranty so even if you get an older build you can get all the updates needed to bringthe car up to speed. You need to transfer your insurance to the new car, but your insurance should cover you in all states as long as your policy is current.

You could buy a new car at the dealer for a similar discount 8-10k off??

either way make sure you check out the car do a carfax and call a dealer and have the service dept look up the records.

They likely would not get 82k from the dealer, I would say 75k is more in line with market. Check to see the best you could do on an 08 or even a left over07, if they can match 82k on a new car with the same options you can use this to bargain with the seller

Cool, give me a holler when you get in to the Bay Area and I'll introduce you to the exotics meet at Santana Row. Goatspeed and I are planning on going this coming Saturday.

$82K?? You can go to a dealer on a 2008 with a MSRP of $94K or so and get a new one for the exact same money. I wouldn't touch this car for less than $72 K on a bet, for real.

I agree with everybody else. You should at least go to a dealer and try a sale. If you can get a brand new car for $82k, then skip this one. I know this one is almost new, but $15k off MSRP is just too hard to ignore

i meant that by the mileage.

i might take this over to a dealership and get it checked out,
anything else to look for for clues of condition of car?

So you just mean used with low miles? That would be different. Try to do a background on the car. I'd only be curious why the OO dumped it.

Good luck. Be patient and get a nice car.

$82k is way too much, if it's completely loaded with all the options, I'd pay 75k tops. PM me if you want details about when I bought my car and I can also recommend a friend that does sales to you to get a better idea of what you're getting.
