there is NO penalty for tinting a leased car...I used to have a CL500 (LEASE) amg package...When I returned it, I gave it back with tinted windows, tined tail-lights, Upgraded foglights, and Instead of giving it back with the AMG wheels it came with, I gave it back with Knock off brabus wheels, and they had no problem with it...I think it helps them resale the car when it looks like it was modded...Tinted windows isnt major, I doubt the dealer will give you any problem for giving the car back with them tinted...Hope that helps

Yeah, there is no penalty. Find a shop that will put 20% all the way around. It looks great, and it's not too dark to be able to see out of, but it may be illegal in your state. In Texas, 35% is the darkest you can legally go on the front two windows, but I've never had any trouble with 20%. 5% on the other hand might attract attention from the coppers.

do 20% some shops do 15% instead , so either 1 is good...but dont do limo, it gets hard to see at times, and it gives the popo a reason to stop you ( they notice it more)....
Do I think theyll top this E-w211 body, yeah prob....Benz always seems the amaze me

50 percent is what I have and that looks classiest if the window surround is dechromed. Also gives peace of mind when rolling next to cops especially with no front plate. 35 percent looks good too but looks very dark with black interiors. Make sure to get ceramic so it doesn't block your V1 or satellite radio and of course NON REFLECTIVE.

Go for 40 percent unless you don't want to be seen inside. That will be as dark as 30/35 percent in other tints. The owner of where you're likely going has 50 percent on his vehicle, fyi.

Look at my sig...my car is leased lol. As long as you have a solid relationship and history with MB's, I think you'll be alright, regardless of how you mod your car.

My MB dealership drove my car to the tint shop and back...so like everyone else mentioned shouldn't be a problem.

i have a silver car with pano. I am wondering if i should 35% or 50% tint. I will be using 3M film. I live in MA and the law here saws 30% is the legal limit. If you go 35% you end up at 27-28% due to stock tint. If you go 50% you end up at 33-35%. This is based on 3 previous mercs I have tinted.
Questions - do you think 35% is to dark on the car? it has a black interior. I want it to look classy so not too dark. I actually want something inbetween the 35 and 50% films. 3M does not make that i dont think however. I want the 35% but am afraid of being pulled over (happened in my other cars here when the had the 35% on there). Reagrdless of the law, what would you guys chose?!

The W211 is a very tint-friendly car. I'd go as dark as you think you can get away with...it looks better the darker you go.
Just fight the temptation to tint the windshield. Great for UV protection, but up in MA they won't let it pass inspection no matter how light it is.

Hoping that the combo of 40% huper optik and the slight blue hue of the factory windows will be dark enough.
One side question, I read in other threads that MB windows are prone to scratching tint. People recommended getting a moleskin kit to prevent scratching. Does anyone here have tint scratching issues? Thanks.

Dealers don't want modded cars. They can't sell them. Tinted windows is just a film that can come off. The rest they usually give you less since they have to bring the car to stock, most of the times.

35% is not even close to being dark enough in my opinion! 50%??? What is the point? I think 20% is about perfect. It makes the car look great, and it's not too dark to see out of.
