That E63 sounds mad good. that is the TRUE BEAST. and personally i think the E63 looks best in all black. that is one sick car.

There's a two day event spanning the 16th and 17th, but it is open to the public, so there will likely be around 300 cars there, which means only a couple of runs in 7 hours

We are trying to get a private track rental date so we can do many runs

We have one coming up that will likely be on the 24th, but not sure if there are any open spots, as this was a re-schedule of the 01/28/08 event. I'll let you know by end of the week.

Also, we are planning to rent the track a couple of more times throughout the year in case you're interested....

Agreed...but he shot it by himself using a tripod and was pissed I didn't bring my Black Series out to film and help him cause I was sleeping off a nasty hangover

Actually, we have....from a dead start he can take me no problem becasue of the wider 20" tires. But, that's a debate he and I have been having for a while...Does a wider regular MPS have more stick than my narrower R compounds ???
Honestly, we have probably dragged 5 times. I really haven't been able to launch well, unless I do a staged burnout to get some heat in my tires. I have been able to stay right with him a couple times, once with crash control off I just smoked the tires, then another time I feathered it 3/4 throttle in 1st and then hammered through and stayed right with him.
His car is very very fast....
However, from a rolling start I walk away from him no problm at all. The Black series is not a drag car, it's meant for the track and twisties. We have a short video of us racing from a rolling start....He jumps the start and I still smoked him....He's sending me the video now and I'll post it this evening.

Interesting results . The fastest 63 time so far has been the CLK BS (1/4mile) and it trapped faster and had lower ET than the E63. Those Corsa's should be heated a bit , your likely losing simply because he has a softer tire. The width on your corsa should be an advantage but you gotta get them to 200 F for them to work. You should be close but your car should pull simply because of a 300 lb weight diff. Is the gearing identical on the E63 I know the CLS has a slight advantage in 1st Looks like the BS would have an advantage in 2nd gear over the E. Final drive is the same, ..

Ok so we need to all get to the track asap..Sunday at Famoso will be less crowded and very fun, let me know if you guys wanna roll. Otherwise keep your eyes peeled for Alternative motoring Cal speedway events. And of course if you ever wanna hit Willow ofr Spring Mountain Im down for ythat as well

The Black Series has a shorter final drive ratio than the E63...There is no way I have raced him from a standing start with my tires at 200 F so that, as I mentioned before, is a huge factor. He is running MPS....those are softer than my R compounds ???
Anyway, I would love to make it to Famoso this Sunday and I know my buddy would as well. We should all goto Willow at the end of the month when Jcart and his sick *** Evosport BS is going to make it's debut. That car is going to be ridiculous...
In the meantime, here is the video of the E63 and my BS racing from a rolling start. If you listen to the honks, you can see he clearly jumps the start and I gain on him and pull past then we both have to back off due to merging traffic.

Good news is this E is shifting nicely. To answer your question, the track tires R comps and I just learned this as I too believed them "soft" are actually very hard. They are designed to be hot and stay hot and not degrade. You would have a HUGE advantage on a road course as the sticky compound is released and the tire maintains a center contact patch yet is able to handle heat and stress. The MPS is softer than your corsa!! And also his initial patch is wider so I can see him getting you from a dig. Your car pulls and would likely do this to all other 63 model's as you have the lighter car. His 20" wheels will definately effect his trap speed.........While a wider stance looks great and is great for stability and power transfer spinning those tires sucks HP! Car sounds incredible.
