About to pull the trigger on a 06 E55 for 57k...
the car has 16,000 miles and is perfect inside and out. It comes CPO with 100,000 mile warranty. Should I be aware of any downsides of this year?
Currently I drive a 2000 audi S4 that is well modded. It is a fun car but has gotten old commuting with. The E55 is comfortable but feels boatly in compairson. I am also having trouble with the size of the car. I know like all car changes it just takes some time to get use to. Have any of you guys regretted the purchase because of the weight, handling and overall numbness?

came from an Audi 2001 S4 also and has been a great change. the power between the 2 is completely different. the MB is like a freight train with power down low and no lag. you get used to the bigger car real fast. you will not be unhappy!
my biggest complaint about the Audi was the backseat was not functional (if you were over 5'10) for a 4 door - so it was like driving a big 2 door. this car will pull like mad with 3 of your buddies in the car.

The '06 part is actually good. CPO is as well, as are the miles.
FRIGGIN JUMP!!!!! DOOOOO EEEEEAT!!!!
They key there is the weight. If you want a Benz, then that is a given. Personally, i love holdng a cup of coffee and blowing away 99% of all cars on the road (while most of them are fumbling around for settings or gears). I have riden in benzes all my life, so that is something I am addicted to.
On the other side, you can do plenty to it to make it feel and perform better; BUT it simply is not the "driver's" car that a P-Car, BMW, or Audi is. Then again, driving a beast is a FULL driving experience in its own way. The chassis is all MB and has the refined feel that you would expect. No disrespect to the "others", but the plasticy interiors just don't cut it. As a DD, this is one of my top 5, easily.

Thanks guys...
I am not looking for another true drivers car. I want a good daily driver thats not sloppy. I really regret getting rid of my C32. It was the perfect balance. I have been hard pressed to find a nice C55 that is priced properly. That would be my first choice. Because of where I live there are tons of nice E55 lease returns available.
The E55 feels big and kinda numb. It maybe just an ajustment period that needs to happen before I get use to it. I am tired of getting tossed around in the S4. I have a 993tt for the real fun stuff.

I have an 06 E55 and i havent had any problems with it. I got mine for 55k, but mine had 21000 miles and only a 50000 mile warranty. Your getting a great deal from what i have seen. I spent 3 months looking for the right car before i got mine. Its not as smooth as a normal benz, it feels like a jet fighter, but after a week it feels like home. Post some pics of the 993tt, my favorite year...

You will love the E55 and get used to the size as it is not as big as it appears. I am used to much smaller and more agile cars but I love the E55. It is a nice comfy rocket sled to drive around town and blast down the highway with.
Also, your deal is good!

You need to get their price down some to be competitive.

Ok I did the deal. I picked it up this morning. Very happy with the car. While not the best deal it was still great. One owner flawless car from tiburon. The car was 2k over KBB trade in value.
WTF are the dynamic seats for?

Congrats on the buy. Soon, this car will take over your life- just a warning. (if your married your wife will soon come to think that you are cheating on her, which would probably be better than cheating on her with your car) The dynamic button holds you in place on tight turns and curves. The pulse button gently massages your back to keep the blood flowing.

06 E55 SOLD, 89 300 SE 375,000 miles
You'll get the modding bug real fast with these cars. You'll deny it now. But it will bite you. When it does I recommend Topline in Burlingame. Been around for years and did my car 1 week after I bought it brand new. No problems what so ever.
Have fun with her. You'll find it hard to keep your foot out of it.

If clean, it wouldn't still be on the lot for $49K

Congrats and you scored with the Dynamic seats...while not the most useful, they are fun toys to have and I love mine!

2004 E55 AMG
I would lease it for a very short term. the 55 is now a depreciation pit. auction prices are around 37K to 42K.
a short lease like 24 months the body style is changing soon so, even the 63's will be dropping in price like a rock.
