If you know a trick to make it plug and play, I want to hear it!
I have an electronics background and have done this swap just like Finny so I am familiar with the electronics and differences in the wheel. The issue stems from the older cars having a different communications buss.

We posted up a video a few months ago and it is plug and play...I will try to locate the video and post again. All you need to do is us a new airbag...

I do recall the video but if it is really an early car, how was it done?
Both Finny and myself have done this and ran into the same problem...it was not plug and play....
The late '05 and on cars use a VERY different wiring setup for the shift buttons/paddles than the earlier cars. The late '05 and on cars also use a different communication protocol for the buttons on the wheel.
I am not trying to challenge you but unless you can post the "how it is able to work answer", I can't accept that it does as the early v. late setup are not compatible with each other.
This wheel with an airbag is plug and play in a late '05 on but that is it. However, it may be possible to change the interface in the dash to work in an earlier car but I am not aware of anyone that has gone that route.
Once again, if you guys found a way to do this and can explain it and provide pictures of the inside of the wheel plugged with everything plugged in, you will get lots of customers!
