::::Looking to get my iforged wheels powercoated in Chicago::::
Chicagoans, any good place, any recommendation, any hookup's, etc... I have a 3 piece 19" Iforged that's polished and really getting sick of the maintenance. Any help would be great!

I have used a few Powder Coaters in the burbs. Performance Powder Coating is the best I have used. They are quick, have great color and finish selections and quality is top notch. The only draw back is they are way out in Yorkville, IL. I don't have the number off hand, and I just tried looking them up on-line and could not find much, I hope they are still in business. It's been a couple years since I used them.

I would have them painted and not powder coated. The powder coating process puts a lot of heat on the aluminum and can potentially weaken the structure and make them brittle.

Sorry I don't know. I was going to powder coat my HREs and my guy out here in CA said he wouldn't recomend it. I do know the guys at Fall Line Motor Sports in Winnetka and they do a lot of cool stuff. They may be able to point you in the right direction.

Don't do Wheels America. I had them repar some curb rash and repaint. The color was off and flawed. THey said it was as close as they could get. After complaining a lot they offered to paint the other whell on the same side of the car so when you looked at the car you wouldn't notice a color difference. I had a fit and after they had my wheel for 3.5 months they finally painted all 4 wheels to match each other. Poor service and poor ability.

What was your reasons that you did paint instead of powercoat...?

Problem was the extreme heat, when doing the powdercoat.... The shop was telling me that the screws on the 3 piece will be permanently fused. Also, someone here (forum) mentioned that there's a possibility that the alloy will be weaker because of the extreme heat.

aren't the wheel supposed to be dismantled anyway?
