E63 Front Conversion Group Buy
#52
I've allready got all the parts with part numbers. They will start painting tomorrow Thursday and isntalling on Friday or Saturday. We were able to custom fit E55 sensors on to the E63 bumper. The good thing is that it looks like it came like that from the factory with the E55 sensors installed on the E63 bumper. So I will be taking picuters of the whole enchilada and if anyone is interested in buying the conversion setup with the bumper just ready to put the E55 parktronic sensors in just let me know and I will have a total price on monday or wedensday the latest. Believe me it will be a good price and you will be satisfied.
I also ordered this part and I think it's a great addition that should also be included in the whole package.

I've had this setup for almost two years. You dont need to change the headlights. I actually like the old look, dont like the additional upper lines inside too much. There is two small brackets that are different from the E63 that is required to bolt on the bumper to the E55 body (bumper support). From your list I dont see them mentioned. It's no big deal they'll figure it out when they tackle the install. Also, there is the foam insert too for additional support that goes inside the lower diffuser that is needed. Love the look, way more aggressive looking
Whats the price on the bumper alone? At the time I got my bumper my dealer couldn't get the Euro bumper (Without side markers).
Anyone want to buy my bumper (has the US spec side markers), make me an offer, you'll need all the other parts mentioned in this thread. I want to change mine to the Euro.

I need to find out first how much the new bumper is gonna run me. Trying to get a hold of my contact, and wait for his reply. I'll PM you as soon as I find out.
I need to get a hold of my guy and have him get back to me for the new bumper, then i can figure what deal I can give for mine. The small brackets is a E63 part. They will bolt onto our E55s to the new E63 bumper. The foam insert is, like I mentioned before, is for the lower diffuser, which would be of course for the new E63 bumper.
Below is a E-class frontend blow-up for reference, to give a visual and an idea how and how many parts and what parts are involved.

Not exactly. doesn't really show on this blow up. Probably on the E63's blowup which I dont have. It sort of looks like an "L", but an E63 part that you must use along with the new bumper. Bolts right up to our E55s bumper support. My guy who did this for me at the shop said everything bolts right up, no mods needed. When it comes down to it you are going have to work with who youre going through to look at all the blowup diagrams to see what parts you need to be sure. I had this done through a Mercedes dealer.

I have my estimate from my body shop where I originally had the work done. I'm currently looking to sell bumper along with the chrome corner trims and the amber side markers/lights. I'm trying to keep whatever I can off the bumper so when I change to the Euro version, which is exactly the same thing minus the side amber lights. Keepin fog lights, bottom middle metal grill and all the inards, foam insert.
To give you guys an idea on the estimate is missing the amber lights, which are 35 a piece, so + 70. So what were are looking at is approx $1,900 for bumper, paint, labor for painting and prep, chrome trims, and tax. This is what I had to pay originally for this portion of the conversion. You'll need to buy all the other items needed to complete the front end. IE: brackets, foam insert, misc parts inside, grill. fog lights, and so on.
Since mine is of course used, but in good condition, with nothing more but wear and tear. Anyone intrested make me a fair offer keeping in mind the portion I'm selling originally cost me approx $1,900.
It's alreay Tectite grey with lamp washer cut outs. No Parktronick, no ugly round holes.
This offer is probably best and most cost saving to anyone with this same Tectite grey color.

'04 Silverado Z71 - sold all my Benzes and need another!
So your total brand new parts cost, because you can't charge for paint and labor, is $1227 + $70 for the amber corners, right? What is goint to happen with the fogs and the rest of the brackets and stuff that you have???

So I revise my offer to anyone who is intrested with my same Tectite grey color looking to save a few hundred bucks on having to paint their bumper for this conversion. I had all the work done at Newport Fletcher Jones Mercedes at their Collision center. So as you can imagine everything is OEM mercedes quality paint and all.
This dealership is probably one of the largest Mercedes dealers. Yesterday when I was there in their lot and showroom they had a total of 4 SLRs. Two new convertibles, one hard top, and the awesome 722. Anyone looking to buy a 722 contact Newport Fletcher Jones. This dealer is where you can also custom order to your likes a Maybach.

Correct, so we are looking at apporx 500+tax for the paint job alone. But, for me this is too big of a loss to sell the way you put it just to have no amber light. Again, I'm only doing this to get the E63 Euro version bumper which looks exactly the same minus the amber lights. So I'll still need what I can keep for the new E63 bumper (Euro version) when I get it. This deal probably is best for anyone with my same Tectite color looking to save a few hundred bucks without having to paint it.
