Service Interval for S/C Belt?
I think I read somewhere that the S/C drive belt should be replaced every 30K. In reviewing my recent service invoice for my 30K Service "B", I noticed they didn't replace the belt.
Should I be concerned, or can I assume they carefully inspected and determined it is still okay?
Also, what about brake fluid flushes? Service book says every two years, but again, the dealer didn't bother. I don't like spending cash unnecessarily on maintenance, but I don't mind keeping the beast in top condition either when the maintenance is recommended by the factory.

You'd be surprised how fast that belt goes bad (to where it starts to reduce power from stretch) It's only a 40-50$ part so I say next time you are at the stealer, have um pop one on. If you are handy, literally takes bout 2mins to pop a new on one in the garage.
I am always checking mine out for signs of wear and stretching and I change accordingly.
Would say I get about 10K out of mine but again, I am paranoid about them killing power as has been proven here. Besides the heat issue, it's the weak link in a near perfect little motor setup.

Jangy, your cost per mile must be astronomical!
Every 5k miles, you change oil ($100), sc belt ($100), rear tires ($600) and if I remember correctly, brakes at some really really low multiple like 10k.
Dang! I'd hate my car for that kind of service ... although I don't get close to 5k miles from rear tires.
