Is DaimlerChrysler done with Mercedes ?

I could swear the whole merger broke off and Mercedes parted ways from Daimler. On bottom of my 08 front driver door on a white sticker " Mfg by DaimlerChrysler " but on the windshield the white sticker reads " A product of Mercedes " In the past you would see the Daimiler signature on the windshield sticker. I have the whole Daimler association.

I would have said MB is done with DC, not vice versa.
What an unmitigated disaster.

You're absolutley right, my error. I have a few friends who are big BMW fans and it really ticks me off when they mess around with the whole " Hey you're driving a Chrysler " crap.

I believe Mercedes still has a 20% ownership in Chrysler.

A 20% stake in Chrysler's parent company.

That merger killed the brand. It really changed the whole feel of what a benz is. Started cheaping out on stuff...

However, when a movie star goes to buy an expensive luxury vehicle you always notice it is still a Benz.

Oh ya, I totally agree.

I don't know if it's intentional or by accident, but Mercedes is probably the best success-story in the history of viral marketing. Every rap song, movie, whatever references benz.

Only problem is, your business can only be carried along by your name for so long...eventually the quality will need to be there, or they will go out of style. Way of the world.

Non-traditional advertising cuts both ways...every time one of these horror stories about the car failing and the dealer refusing to honor the warranty, being rude to customers, etc. etc. comes out it puts a ***** in their armor. Eventually it will hit critical mass, and they will become the 21st-Century Jaguar, where everyone associates them with nothing but problems and poor quality.
