sorry...i launch from idle without bringing up the rpms to load the converter.

this will give the quickest launch but the worst reaction time because there's so much lag between you pressing the pedal and the ecu deciding it's okay to do what you want. it's a trade off. if i needed a good reaction time (if i were bracket racing) i would bring the rpms up about 200rpm above idle and sacrifice a few 100ths in my 60ft and 6-8 100ths in my et.

Mikey,

Nice run and time. I'd kill for a 60ft time like that.

What are your thoughts on SLR vs Vrus cams.

Also, what changes did you see after addition of the cams.........increase trap speeds? Did you lose anything down low? Also, did you do pre and post dynos? Sorry, I'm sure you've discussed this stuff before but the search function does not work on my computer.

i honestly don't know enough about vrp cams to compare but they're definitely an easier install than the slr cams. i typically share pre and post dynos with all my mods so they should be around here somewhere. iirc, the slr cams were worth 15-20bhp starting around 3500rpm up to redline and gave me approximately a tenth and a mph in the 1/4mile.

Great Run Mikey,

There is now way I can MASH at NED without wheel spin. There is now way you have any wheel spin with a 1.69 so that tells me one of two things:

The track is sprayed heavy and prepped really really well or,

Your DR's are hooking for you..But you say you do 1.7's in street so I guess I am leaning towards the track prep.

Still can't believe you MASH and not spin your wheels. I cook my tires TOYO RA1's and still spin loosing precious time of the launch when I mash. I usually feather 90% of time off the line off idle to avoid wheel spin (Traction Control is on).......

Would like to hear your response.......

you're absolutely right...track prep is a must and, although our altitude sucks, i'm fortunate to live near two of the best prepped tracks in the country (firebird & speedworld). it wasn't always like this. last year firebird finally completely resurfaced the first few hundred feet of their track and since then it's been consistently awesome for those that understand how to properly inflate and heat their tires (whether street tires or d/r's).

Thanks Mikey,

I thought that would be the case. Glad to see your "rear end" is fixed and your back at it. Looking forward to more great times and launches.....

6 months ago i would have said "speedworld" no question, but since their resurface i now prefer firebird. however, speedworld is easier and cheaper to rent and draws a much smaller crowd for their weekend test-n-tunes.

as long as the weather is cool, either one will offer great traction and some good et's for the da. so the key is planning your trip around the weather more than the track.

get with josh and we'll make it a party!!!

*edit* now that i think about it, speedworld during a private rental is going to be the way to go. they're not going to kick us out for running below 11.50 without a roll bar.

Hell I would rent speedworld in a second or Famoso. Fontana is Incredible prep similar to Speedworld and firebird DA wise. Famoso on a cool day would get you guys down to 11.20's-11.30's@122-124

Lets start planning a battle of the 55's Ed, Shawn, Jack,Mike, Mike, man I would simply Love that!!!Famoso, Fontana, Speedworld..Famoso is 650 ft absl vs 1250 ish for the others. On a cool day it is 100-900 ft all day long. This is very important
