2005 CL 65
E55 or E63

I have a dilemma...I am selling my 2005 CL65 as I need a car with a bit more practicality. I have a small child and it is difficult to get her in and out of the CL ...I have looked at a few E55 (2005 / 2006) but have seen a few deals on a E63...Please help me determine which way to go...

Thanks,

Andrew

If money is not an issue, and I was you I would go with the 63. The 55 has a much rougher ride, and your daughter might not like it. The 63 will also come with a full warranty, any 55 you get will onlt have about 1 year or so left. I say you test drive them both back to back at a dealership, then make your decision, either way, you wont be dissapointed.

If you're thinking about modding in the future, then stay with E55. If you'll keep the car stock, then go with E63, as it's the fresher and newer model with updated looks, parts, engine, tranny, exhaust note, etc....

It is the updated looks that attracted me to the 63 in the first place.

Get the cheaper 55 and save the money. You'll have about a year of warranty or more left. The all new E is going to come out in a year and E55/63 are going to tank like there's no tomorrow. No point spending more on a 63 now. Then when the new E is out you can upgrade.

I wouldn't get the new E-Class as soon as it comes out. I would wait for a year or two to give Mercedes and AMG a chance to work out most of the bugs. First model years are usually the "test" batch.

I was going to say pretty much the same thing. it will be 2+ years before the new AMG comes out. And even then you dont want the first year mondel if you can help it. So IMO I would say get the 63, as I did, enjoy if for 3 more years then maybe upgrade....

i agree. That's what i'm going to do. I just got my E55 6 mos ago over the E63 after several test drives on both amazing cars. I choose it for 3 reasons: torque, mod potential, & less deprec. hit.
