Chicago/Midwest-PRIVATE TRACK DAY-May 17***
I must say, I have launched with these tires in other cars (ie Supra twins, etc.), but never with an E. I was amazed how easy it was to launch this car with the drags. ESP off and just rolled into the throttle. And, there you go.

I have another test and tune near my house tomorrow (Lebanon Valley). DAs should be much better than last weekend at US 41 and the track is usually prepped pretty well. There is also a super v. pro race that night, so the big boys should be leaving down a lot of rubber for us to pick up. If all goes well, I am going to go for the record 60' on an E55
(my understanding is that the best so far is a 1.610 (Derrick DJE55)). I make sure I try and have someone video the runs (we have 4 or 5 people going, including another stock E55).If anyone is aware of any better 60' than Derrick's please let me know.
I forgot, you were on drags, I was on street tires. At other tracks, you'd be able to cut those 60' times with street tires and the E. It really can put the power down with the right conditions.

Made the drive home all the better.
That is one hell of a 60' you got there along with ET. You have a strong car.
Keep us posted on your ET's. What is your list of mods? Tires on for the 1.64 60'?
Cooling: LET HE and Johnson Pump.
Traction: 275-35-18 BFGs on stock rims.
That's it
Everything else is bone stock. Leaving shortly for test and tune tonight at LV. Will keep everyone posted.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME! 3 of the 4 people I went with drove 2 hours to get to the track tonight and nobody got a single run. Track refunded our money and gave comp "rain check" passes for another time, so it wasn't a total loss.
The weather forcast showed "no rain" and the actual shower only lasted about 20 minutes, but there was no drying off after 8:30.
Probably the worst part about it was the DA just before our first scheduled run was 214.6 feet!!! with a 500 foot elevation track. This would have definitely yielded some amazing times. Oh well, next time.

ONE WORD
DEPRESSING
That is one amazing run you have there. Did you know your atmospherics that day were as follows:
The closest weather results for 05/01/2008 at 06:09 pm New England Dragway
Time recorded 5:55 PM
Temperature °F 52.3
Dew Point °F 32.9
Altimeter Setting 30.11 Inches Mercury
Absolute Pressure: 30.02 Inches
Density Altitude: -461 feet
Track Elelvation: 90 feet
UnCorrected ET:
11.470 (sec) @ 122.16 (MPH)
Corrected ET to Sea Level:
11.526 (sec) @ 121.555 (MPH)
How do you like that track? It is a little far for a "usual" trip for me, but I may be interested in coming out and meeting up with you. After all, I did drive 750 miles to go to the event in this thread

Are there any other E55s that run at that track? Is the DA regularly below sea level? I have considered going to ATCO to get some "hero" times, but it seems that this time of year NED may be a better bet (cooler, etc.).

I would encourage you to come to NED. The track conditions usually are pretty good and the temps are the coolest in the country RIGHT NOW. This is the time of year to go after records with the cooler nights. They actually have ripped up the first 500 ft of the track and laid down newer surface on May 1st.
Fleebee and Zack63 go to the track on occasion so we could get the four of us to go out some night. Wed and Friday nights are street nights.
Anyways, how far is the drive for you? It takes an hour and fifteen minutes for me to get to NED. If you want you can resurrect an old thread for NED and we can keep it going for updates or continue on with this one.
You have a STRONG car man, you need to get up here and get some record breaking passes. Get some headers and TB and you will rock man.
Peace Bro......

That kinda freaks me out (in a good way
) since I hardly have any upgrades on my car. I FIRMLY believe it is ALL in the "tune" on these cars. Currently I have a "safe" but aggressive LET tune on my car and I love it. Up top, my car still runs a little rich and might be pulling some timing (especially when it gets hot), but on a cool night like last night, it is a MONSTER!!I'll hop on the NED website and see about the times and what is coming up. Would love to meet up with you guys. Might even see if I can bring another friend with an E55 along with me. Although he just went into limp mode for the first time last night when trying to keep up with my car.
He has a 2004 E55 with 24k miles in excellent condition. We ran our cars head to head before I upgraded and we were dead even. Last night, with a simulated 1/4 mile run (dig to about 12 seconds), I pulled about 8-10 car lengths on him. We got it on video (had a ZR1 following behind us) and watched it several times after. After doing several more runs, his car went limp. I told him "it is time to pull out the Johnson" and he looked at me like
In the meantime, thanks for the compliments and right back atcha

DO IT GUYS...ZAX needs to reel off some 12.1's and you guys need to shoot for the all motor records....
We have a guest drivng hundreds of miles to take advantage of our track. We need to show our New England Hospitality.
COMON GUYS , NED is amazing.
ZAX man getittogether and bump yer time past Venom and Gixxer>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
12.30's in a stock 63 is fantastic.
Hey Higginsbeach bro start a new THREAD!! Or and old NED thread so we can get this HYPED!!! I need more 63's running on good tracks. My goodness, I also would love to see two similar 55's go heads up on film. Wayne is the master Z06 killer , we need more Z06 kills to demonstrate the E55's superior dragability, LOL.
new word
DRA-GAH-BILL-ITY
Since Tracshun (Jay) mentioned my 2006 E55 times I thought should provide a few details.
60ft 1.754
1/8 7.727
1000’ 10.046
1/4ET 11.9849
¼ mph 116.62
60ft 1.6430
1/8 7.698
1000’ 10.033
1/4ET 11.9878
¼ mph 115.71
As you could guess I am very pleased with the results. Similar to others I also did the weather conversions, not sure I believe them - would almost be too good to be true.
Jay – it was nice running into another Texas Ex. I asked my dad if he remembered your father and in fact he did. Small world. You mentioned you had one of my runs on video – can you send a copy my way?
It was great to see everyone else and thanks for putting up with the old guy. Wish I could have stuck around longer but I had another birthday to celebrate!
Looking forward to the next event!

I am pretty sure that is the run I have on tape. I have watched it several times. When you took off, it almost looked like your front wheels wanted to lift!!! Complete "hook".
