I dropped it off last night for the last service G before the warranty expires next month. They're doing 3 TSB's and the supercharger clutch. Can't wait to get it back. I've owned this car for the last 4 years and it still makes me smile everytime I drive it. I'm gonna see how much it will cost to buy the extended warranty (not sure if I can yet). I'm not a big fan of extended warranties because I find that I'm usually buying it for the next owner. On second thought, forget about the extended warranty. I'm getting a pulley and program when the warranty is up.

Get them both (ext. warranty + mods) You could get an extended warranty from a mod friendly dealer.... Save some hassles in the future if there is any warranty claim. And this is not a random 3rd party warranty.... it's issued and backed by big MB dealership.

PM me if you want to know more.

Just got the beast back. It took 3 days to complete all TSB's and maintenance. Here's a list:

oil & Filter change
windshield fluid solvent
brake fluid
super charger clutch No more chirping
flush water drain nozzles
replaced left and right catalytic converters
replaced fuel filter module
replaced battery

The beast is purring like a kitten.

May I ask how close (in miles) you were to your service interval?

I took mine to the local dealer the other day as my (free service) & initial warranty period expire in 14 days... they stated that MB would not cover it as it's over 1000 miles before it's due. (FSS is calling for Service F in 3500 miles.)

I "tried" and was hoping they might cover it, but wasn't too suprised that they didn't (I bought it 6000 mile ago and it shows a service then).. just curious close you were to your service interval.

No big deal really, as I'm sure to have fun doing my own work on the car for "service" items...

To be honest, I am not sure how close I was to the mileage limit for service G. The dash said I was overdue by 18 days. I just took it in to my dealer and told them my warranty was up next month. I had 19,800 miles on the clock.

If you want to get extended warranty, you'd better get one before your warranty is up. It'd be much more expensive and harder to get ext. warranty after your warranty is up. And this, if at all possible.

But damn.... 20K on 2004?? I wonder what kind of mileage you got on your TT

13K miles on the 2002 TT. 8K on the 2004 F360. My daily is the X5. I'm going to call FJ tomorrow.
