Noooo, lol, I was at $700 and your buddy came in at $900 which pushed Mike and I out (we were bidding against each other, lol). Then when I glanced at the paper at the end he changed it down to $800 without anyone looking, lol.

Yeah, Im sorry. I never did a silent auction before. For some reason I thought it was ebay.. After I thought about it, I went back and changed it. Some people had crossed their bids out on other items, so I thought it would be OK to change it. In my defense though, they did give plenty of opportunity to bid before closing it off.

But I would have bid it to $1K anyway. Even at $1K, still a steal, and all to a great cause. I wish I could get all my mods this way, if so, I would be completely tricked.

I agree, you got a great deal and it all does go to charity in the end! I won the CF E55 front lip for $200 bucks so I'm still content, lol...

Dunno where you read that, but it is not true. i have been all over the W211s and haven't come accross a 4 sensor yet. Again, that is airmatic. ABC has 4 sensors.

You're right, reading the instruction, it seems that you basically just move the wire... so instead of naked wire-to-wire connection, it would just use an adapter that has to be connected manually? Why can't R/T create a true PnP?
Because this was much cheaper. I'm still not sold on the gen II. I'd like to be able to buy the GEN I rights from them. i bet I could sell a snot load more of them than the new one at double the price.

wait, our cars only have 3 wires? I wired mine for 4 wires because of the instructions. So are the instructions incorrect?

My assumptions: 2003-4/06 were 4 wire
from 5/06 on, they were 3 wire.

Someone please clarify!

mine is 3/3 front and 6 rear. i thought for the airmatic there are only 4 knobs... 2 for front ,1 for rear and next to that the rear an on off knob which is numbered as 0 for off, 1 for airmatic and 2 for the non airmatic..... i was told the following... either the leveling sensors for the airmatic are faulty /going bad and need replacement and or they need to be reaclibrated if they are off... my idie did it in less than an hour.....

Is the manual wrong? You claim you haven't seen a 4 wire setup

I'd check that, charles. Your Airmatic only has 3 sensors.

I don't claim, it is simply impossible. ABC has a sensor at each wheel. Airmatic in the E55 has one at each front and one in the center of the rear. There are no other sensors. I do not know how the new S runs on Airmatic. the older S never had it. they all had ABC.

I do not know if RT's manual is incorrect, but I think I remember that the last set of instructions mixed up some colors with the wire numbers. I also think i remember someone with the new one saying that the colors are off on the new one, too.

Thanks for the clarification arjang. I'm gonna call rt tomorrow and find out WTF. Their manual shows 03-5/06 as being 4 wires.

They could be power buttons? I dunno. All I am sure about is the number of sensors and that the new S has Airmatic as well (but it may be different).

Did your elm work? With the older one, there are two different "on" settings to determine which setup you have. In all honesty, I don't think it made a difference in my car which on it was on, as long as the 3 sensor wires were on.

elm works, but I noticed the other day, when I turned it off, the car sits lopsided. The left side is higher than the right. Way higher.
