CM90 version arrived!

Code3 H/E to match my CM90 pump arrived.

Very nicely packed and really looks the part and welds are superb. The end tank had to be modified to allow for the larger opening for the CM90. I forgot how big this pump is!

Also got 4 bolts on underside to take the oil cooler for the '06...

Taken some pics of the unit and will post as soon as I can get them off my camera.

Hopefully it bolts right in.

Thanks Brandon.

good writeup - a quick thing.

it may not be best if the water fluid slows down too much, since heat transfer is a function of both temperature and flowrate.

since there are two heat exchangers involved in this loop, the only real way to make this judgement call is by looking at the efficiency of both the intercooler and the front mounted HE for both airflow and waterflow. a reduction in waterflow in the front mounted HE may not impact total heat rejection much, but it could in the intercooler.

overall, you get better heat rejection running higher flowrates. all HE's have a plateau that is based off heat exchanger performance, and the initial temperature difference. droppnig flow only makes sense if you're running in this operating range, which most likely we aren't.

used to work for Behr

btw, i know everybody complains about the mediocre front charge cooler, but please note that it's the OEM's (and overall industry's) priority to have better A/C performance, and any larger/thicker heat exchanger in front of the condenser would have made a negative impact on this system.

Given that 1 deg C different in panel out AC temps means the difference between pass and fail, while I'm sure the OEM would rather have consistent A/C performance with reduced repeatability in WOT, then a lower overall A/C performance with better flogging capabilities, but there are many on this forum that would rather have it the other way around

to have both A/C and CAC performance, you would either need to open the front end, increase fan power, or both, which would increase drag and reduce fuel efficiency.

there's always tradeoffs. even if I don't agree on which component should take priority, there are more systems than just the supercharger unit that need to hit targets. What about a larger condenser for the E55? The fact that the lower E variants use the same condenser and rest of the underhood spacing, you really are limited without a negative impact on something.

good move!

The unit will bolt right in. I have an older version which the end tanks were thiner.

HE has been the only mod I have never doubted.

Couldn't help myself finding my old thread on the heat exchanger I got after it was pointed out what the old prices were! I paid $700 and then more for install and look at where the pricing is now! Goodness, this is why I try not to take a walk down memory lane! LOL!
