*** VRP Lightweight Rotors ***
I've been working on making an upgraded brake rotor kit for our cars for a while now.. Went through a few different trials but I think we have a winner here...
This is for those guys who want to improve the braking, the cooling, the handling and the appearance of their car over the stock steel 1piece rotors but dont want to drop the major money needed for our F1 style carbon setup.
Here are the highlights:
The regular price will be $1799 + shipping. I've ordered 20 sets of these and they will be blown out at $1599 + shipping!!!!
Here is a quick pic so you can get an idea of what it looks like..

Here are the highlights:
- They are 360mm front and 330mm rear rotors.
- You save a little over 8lbs on each corner. Thats a 32lb saving over the stock steel setup.
- The hats are hard anodized black for that stealth look.
- Directional rotors which allows an increase in cooling efficiency. The stock rotors are non-directional. 1 side cools while the other side will actually keep the heat on the rotor.
- It's a 2piece floating hat design.

Nice Vic!!!
I assume these are comparable to the Evo floating rotors? That is a great price if they are. Is the hat aluminum and do they only come in cross-drilled?

Oh yeah.. The carbon setup is straight off the F1 cars.. Its big money ($18K for the rotors, calipers, pads, lines) but its the best money can buy.. Here is the link where I announced them: https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/226027-vrp-carbon-rotors.html
Yes.. I will be testing them on the SL/CL/S.. I've checked the CLS and E and they are perfect..
Thanks bud! Yeah.. they are pretty much the same.. I dont know who makes them for Evosport, but, these are close to the same specs.. The criteria I gave to the company was that I wanted the stock calipers, pads and lines to be used. The biggest they could make them was 360mm/330mm.
The hat is aluminum and hard anodized black. Cross drilled is what I asked for because its the most popular I think.. I can ask and see if they can handle a different configuration...
I guess if we had to, I could get them slotted or drilled & slotted..
4 rotors.

I am not sure about better stopping force... The only way to know for sure is to do a measured 100-0 stop test and see if there is an improvement. The big difference is the cooling and the loss of unsprung weight..
I notice my car felt much more nimble with the addition of these rotors and the lightweight wheels I put on.

I dont think they will fit.. I believe rear setup is incompatible on the S.. dont want to take a chance.. Unfortunately I dont know anyone with an S55 to try them on out, otherwise I could verify.
You my friend are going to need air flaps on that beast once it is done.. I dont think bigger brakes alone are going to cut it.. lol..
Dont worry.. when you are ready we can review the options..
The great thing about the Carbon setup is you buy it once and you keep it for a lifetime.. They are designed to be carried from car to car by simply changing the hat. This is assuming you buy a car with a smiliar sized wheel setup.
I believe they are.

I'm all in for a one time buy and I would like to be able to stop on a dime. I'll get the carbon setup once my stock brakes are due for a change.
