OEM part #...anyone have access to these?

I need the OEM part # for the rear axle shaft for my '03 S600 driver's side. The one the dealer sold me doesn't seem to be the correct one and the dealer is closed at this time. The part # they sold me is A 220 350 9410. My Vin # is WDBNG76J13A363639. Thanks for any information. ARRGH!

Here is what I found using it. Seems like the part number matches what they ordered. Wonder what is happening??

Last one I promise. You mentioned that you just installed a new rear. Wonder if they ordered a newer S600 rear. There are different axle numbers for the new rears. Check with them in the AM.

Glad to help the worlds fastest MB.

The rear isn't the problem with the install. For some reason the splined area that is inserted into the hub on the car itself is shorter than the original. The axle nut only grabs about 4 threads on the new axle and the original axle is approx 1/4-1/2" longer in this area where the snout of the axle extends through the hub bearing. If I set the two axles side by side the difference is significant as the new axle bottoms out too early. I placed some marking compound in the area where the new axle would bottom out and it does so with no obstructions. Thanks alot Jackpro for checking these part #'s.

More help please. I installed the new axle but is sets an ABS, ESC, pre-safe, etc code because the ABS reluctor ring is different and the speed sensor doesn't recognize the new part. Part #A220 350 14 10 is correct in every other way and this is the second axle that has been tried. The original axle has no markings or part # engravings on it. Part # A220 350 9410 was not correct as it was about 3/4" too short but the reluctor ring appeared to be correct. ARRGH! This is driving me crazy as the parts catalogs are not accurate.....Jackpro...please save the day! I am not sure what they are trying at this point but I believe that they have ordered the other part #A220 350 4210 which has to come from Germany. Thanks for any help

Wow, dude I am kinda at a loss.

Wonder if some of the other guys could chime in.

It sounds like to me, when they did your new rear, they ordered you a rear from the newer version S600 correct? Wonder if that was the only one available now. Hope you don't have to start swapping parts until you get it working. Ugh. I know I keep taking about the rear, but it's the centerpiece that everything else is based off back there.

Keep me updated Stephen.

Jackpro....I understand your concern with the rear but the issue is at the wheel hub itself and the wheel sensor and not at the differential. The differential half of the axle has been correct both times...even with the one that was the incorrect length. Now, the problem is with the reluctor ring and the "magnetism" it produces according to the MB tech. The new axle that was the correct length has a reluctor ring that has windows and the old one is solid. Thanks for checking...just trying to get the correct info if my local guys are unable at this point to get the correct part #.

Can they/you swap the reluctor ring off the original axle?

Sounds like your dealer needs to call MB and talk to the tech dept. Sometimes they do change things, but don't make note of it anywhere.

Yeah...I asked the same question concerning swapping the ring from the old axle to the new one and they said "it was not possible to do this". I took the old reluctor ring off of the old one no problem but did not take the incorrect ring off of the other axle and attempt the swap. So, they actually ordered another axle(3rd one) and said that everything was correct on this one. At this point I was too burnt out on swapping axles and had them do it. Hopefully all of this will be resolved in the next 2 days. Thanks for the input.
