*** VRP's Badest 55 Wagon ***

I am down in Cali right now taking care of some business and was at the shop today having a look at some of the project cars that are there right now. Wanted to have a look first hand and see how everything was going.

I thought I would share with you guys a total sleeper car that will be roaming the streets of Massachusetts very soon.

One of our own board members (Fleebee) put his pride and joy onto an enclosed trailer and sent it our way for some tuning and updating... I'll let the results speak for themselves as you keep reading further down.

Before I get to the good stuff, here is what Lee's wicked fast wagon looks like... It's getting ready to go back home and I wanted to make sure I send it off all cleaned up. Before I took the pics, I drove it down the street to get it detailed so I had a chance to feel it's power on the street... Let me tell you... This thing pulls!!!! (Lee.. I can't wait to see the smile on your face when you drive it for the first time!!)

Here she is all cleaned up... What a total sleeper.. Looks completely stock on the outside, but boy does it pack a mean punch!!

In the background you can see our CLK63 project car, the SL65 monster, and of course, Jim's VR700 monster (more on that in Jim's Thread in a few minutes)..

This is the view most people are going to get very used to seeing when he gets it back home..

And now, onto the good stuff...

Here is a breakdown of the mods:

- VRP 80mm TB kit
- VRP Carbon Airbox, Python tubes and Engine cover
- VRP VR675 tune
- VRP Cams
- Kleemann headers
- Kleemann pulley

It made 553rwhp, 560rwtq uncorrected. 537rwhp, 540rwtq corrected. Here are the graphs.. This is very close to Rocket's 552rwhp that we we were able to attain with almost identical mods except for the full supersprint exhaust on Rocket's car.

The big different here between Lee's & Rocket's car in comparison to Jim's VR700 is the torque. The VR700 has an extra 20rwhp peak power but the power band is broader and the torque hits sooner and harder. Also, Jim's VR700 car has only the Headers, and does NOT have the rest of the exhaust (high flow cats and x-pipe and midsection pipes).

Lee: I hope you thoroughly enjoy this car.. It is unreal to drive on the street.. Just gobs of power everywhere at every RPM. Looking forward to your feedback once you get it back.

We have a really good setup for these cars that makes great power... There are a few VR675 cars prowling the roads already.

The wagon does have a cooling upgrade also. The parts were all installed by VRP Houston (Sunil) and then the car was transported down to Cali for the tuning.

Jim's VR700 car has the Ported heads in addition to what is in the VR675.

Congratulations Lee !!!!!!!!!

I have personally seen this car at New England Dragway. It is an absolutely beautiful E55 Wagon with every imaginable luxury add on. Last year Lee did an 11.8X.

It is a complete sleeper and the reaction from observers at the track is PRICELESS.

Hey Lee, did some passes at NED Wednesday, April 9th and nailed an 11.8X at 121.5 with an 11.86 60'. WORST track conditions in 2 years, rain puddles EVERYWHERES. Picked up 3.5 MPH in trap onver last years mods. I know i have an 11.5 in her next Wednesday. Hope to see you there. We are going to have loads of fun this year.

BTW, just bought KLEEMANN CAMS to have installed next week.

Congrats again and GET"ER HOME will ya.........

Roland,

I hope you got a great deal on those because Kleemann Cams = Schrick off the shelf profile cams = 7rwhp or 8rwhp.. We dyno'd them. Unless they have a new version that came out, those ones are not going to give you much more power.

On another note.. this will be great.. If you and Lee get together at the drags we'll see a head to head comparison of the Kleemann vs VRP setup.

Lee: Get over there and bust an 11.3..

Hey Victor,

Good to hear from ya.......

I did get a great deal ($1,250) on them and after discussing with Cory at Kleeman they will yield 12-15 RWHP. That should increase my traps to 122.5 - 123.5 which should get me an 11.4-11.6 ET with an 1.7X 60'. Does not require any ECU mods either basically plug and play. I would have bought VRP's but did not want to incur the cost of shipping to Cosa Mesa to get the ECU DYNO tuned. I know I won't get the same power as yours but it will cost me 80% less (1,250 vs 6,250)for the Cams with additional transport cost (2,000 - 4,000) and ECU DYNO tuning (1,000). I thought about buying ROCKS for 2,600but shipping is too much.

Lee and I will have a lot of fun at the track this year. 11.49 or betta and we will be booted off the track so we shall see what happens. No doubt we will exchange notes and times this track year. We will share for all to see....

Congrats on Lee's car and Jim's car......

OMG I'm so jealous. I wish I had the ***** and the cash to do the same to my wagon at this point. Right now I'm afraid that the second I add a pulley+tune, the tranny will drop and the warranty will be denied and I'll be left footing the bill ...

04 - 06 e55 Wagon - looking for
This is exactly what I want. I'm 10 - 12 mos off. The hard part is finding a wagon.

I'm looking forward to the updates. This is an awesome set up. Well done.

Lee... Just wanted to post a final update... The transport company showed up 20min ago to pick up your beast. We burned up all the 91octane that was left in the tank and topped it with a few gallons of 103 so when you get it out of the truck on your end it will be ready to roll.. We didnt have enough left in our drum to fill it up, but, its enough to do a few fast pulls with..

I escorted it to the truck and then watched as they loaded it up and drove away.. I felt like I was sending my son away to college as I stood on the side of the road watching them drive away.. I stood there waving like a proud papa..

Your car was in good company... I want you to rest knowing that a beautiful magnetic red M6 was going to keep it copmany on its trek back to MA..

Enjoy my friend.. Enjoy!!

Please give us some feedback once you've received it and driven it..

Here are a few pics to tide you over.

That wagon is BAD A$$! Need to lose the roof rails, drop it at least 1.5", black out those tail lights and throw some black 19" HRE's on it. I'm looking for a new daily driver, I think I may have just found my next car...but I will go 63, do they offer a E63 wagon in the states?

Thank you everyone for the kudos.

E55 Station Wagons are very rare, I believe there less than 300 over the 4 year run. 63s are even rarrer. Local dealer special order only.

LOL.. That's EXACTLY what I would do if it was my car... BUT, the way it sits right now, it's a complete sleeper.. No one would ever imagine this thing is packing 650hp++.

How hard is it to remove the roof rails and do you need some bits then to cover up the mounting holes? I'd love to do that to mine, they make it look homely for sure.

Thanks for posting those pictures Victor. it's been 6 weeks since I've seen my mistress and she looks sexy standing there in the sun. I get goose bumps thinking about the added power and I can't wait for WOT. Thanks for cleaning her up and the gas. that was very thoughtful but not nessecary. I already have gotten value for money and I'm chuffed to bits with the results. I actually can't believe the increase in power that the cams and tune have gotten, especially when my car was on the low end compared to other modded 55's. The proof will be when I get it back to Boston and on my local dyno and track. It left here with 462/536 and running 11.81 & 118.5mph. I should smash those stats, right?

A very special thanks to Vadim and Sunil. Sunil installed the very first OEM wagon trunk closer, which if you think about it, it was a mammoth job. He also installed the H/E, cams, spacers and PTE's thermostat.

Vadim - Nice one mate!!!
You took a never give up attitute and look what you did. Those of you who are on the fence about sending your car to this man, just do it. There are only a couple places in the US providing this service and for the money it's well worth it. The unfortunate thing for us east coast guys is the additional shipping costs. I justified it because I knew I was leaving LOTS of power on the table with the K2 tune. I wasn't wrong. I'm now putting down what my mods should be doing and probably a little more. Victor - you need to clone this man and install him in a VRP shop east side.

Lasty, thanks to all of you. This forum has cost me $$$ with all of the mods I've ponied up for and the time spent reading about this stuff. I've enjoyed the ride but I'm the done with modding; my wagon is finished, at least until I blow this engine

Once I get her back and a couple of hundred miles on her, I'll post the dyno results. attached is the pre cams/tune sheet.

you mean like this...

Actually, in those pics my wagon has it's winter wheels/tires and the ELM is switched off. I'm on the fence about blacking out the tail lights. Believe it or not my wagon gets a lot of attention from Boston's finest...

My pleasure Lee. I am glad I was here to see your car before it left for its journey back home.

Vadim, Sunil, and everyone else that is involved in VRP with me all have the same vision; we all want to be at the top of the field when it comes to MB personalization and customization. We will never stop short if we know there is more power to be had.. Your car, Jim's car, Rocket's car, any car that has been there won't leave until its as perfect as we think its going to get.

Sometimes its a little frustrating for the customer because it turns into a 2 week tuning session but we'll keep going until its either perfect or the customer says Stop... lol..; I think we logged 31hrs tuning Rocket's car and at least that much on Jim's if not more.

Unless your dyno just reads incredibly low, those numbers will be smashed and then some.. Just promise me you'll give me some first-hand feedback on your car once you've driven it..

Thanks to you Lee for entrusting us with your car and letting us take care of you. I appreciate all your support over the years.
