+1 Takes me approx $100 AUD to fill from empty. Aussie dollar is worth approx 90c US right now. Do the math. You guys in USA are laughing. Lets take the arab oil fields. Us Aussies will take the front line and succeed as per usual. Just make sure our artillery support is there AND THE OIL WILL BE OURS!! Until we do that (as per Sarah Conner’s reoccurring dream) I am with The Godfather "you gotta pay to play"

MBWorld Fanatic!
+1.. buying a $100k and then complaining about gas price = did you expect a 500hp car to give 30mpg?
if you drive 20k miles/yr, its like $1500 extra per yr in gas vs. driving a camry
skooby, goodluck with your lexi', and perhaps add to your sig: "and those who owned an AMG but sold one because of high gas prices". LOL!

This thread has become very interesting.
I am not trying to go "gloom and doom" but...
Something is going to happen with the US economy and I do not think it will be desirable. If you look at the price of gas, a horse-sh%t dinner at an Applebee's type restaraunt for $60+ for 2 people with a cocktail each, a dinner at Ruth's Chris (national steakhouse) for at least $150+, to a vacation to Vegas (a weekend stay will cost you at least $3K at a decent place with food, alcohol, not to mention table losses). An all inclusive at like Sandal's are now $5K for a decent room for 6-7 days. A trip to the grocery store for misc BS is now about $75, and good lord, my Comcast cable and high speed internet bill is $150+ a month (it was $200+), cell phone bills of $125+ for individuals (families can spend $250+ a month). Not to mention real estate costs (still nuts in the grand scheme). And, oh by the way the mortgage/bank biz (what is the downstream effect going to be on that?)
I am sorry but this can not last. Something is going to happen and it is not going to be good...
