The SL's of every generation have always been a beautiful car. Always been my car of choice, too. The new one they are rolling out is certainly no exception...

 

So does that mean there will be no SL63 Twin Turbo?

63TT is comin'... that will be an intermediate verison so SL63 Black with 570hp, SL65 Black with 670hp.

At least thats what I can gather out of all the reports... dunno if the 63's styling will match that of the 65...

The 65 motor though while a beast is kinda old tech by todays standards and the 63TT will be a more efficient motor... but dayam 670-720 hp from that old motor is enuf to enter tracktor pulling contests....

Doesn't seem like it...this is quoted from the above article: "Weight savings also turned the car into a coupe. Instead of a heavy folding hardtop, the Black Series gets a fixed roof fortified with a fully integrated roll cage."

WTF. They should have given it a soft top then.

SL should equal convertible. Now this is pissin' me off...we're going to kill the character of the car to save 40lbs....hmmm....sounds like a great idea to me.

 

The fixed top was probably needed to support the roll cage and I wouldn't be suprised if it was an important structural part of the car.

 

They're still forgetting what this car is...

If that is what they wanted to do, then they should have just started off with a CL to begin with, and then strip the weight out of it. This is ***-backwards...the SL should be a convertible.

 

I like the styling, but I am not liking the white with those body lines... It's gotta be BLACK!

are they forgetting what it is...or are you not following the direction of the "black series" line? mb will still offer the regular sl65 if that's more to your liking.
