E63 ECU RESET
I have always thought that the ECU could be reset via the "old way", turn the key to the start position....ect, ect., now after reading a post on the sneeky ECU reset, there is some question if it could be reset at all on the E63. Is this for sure or just speculation.....??

It works,
I understand the ECU in your 63 has many many many many more maps than in the 55. While some are reset many are adaptive maps that change as you drive.
The best way to get your 63 to scream as agressively as possible are as follows.
1. Drive in M and do not shift until you touch 7000 rpm.
2. Hit your "kickdown button often.
3. when driving in slow conditions use your D/C settings so your D/S settings remain aggressive.
I see the E63 in Germany shifting close to 7600 and no rev limiter, my car goes to 7200 now w/o hitting a limiter. This is simply how I drive. I can also be in 7th gear at 40 mph but I make sure when I drive in traffic Im in C as to not detune my D/S settings.
So long story short, the reset works, it just is not as noticeable and may not give you "faster" more aggressive performance. TYracking my car has made it scary fast, it gets faster on the 3rd pass after the ECU gets accustomed to WOT to 120 mph. Also if you live in a hot climate or your oil temp reaches 110-120 C , you won't be moving nearly as quickly as if your oil temp was 100 or less I tink 90-100 is best for daily on the track 60-70 is best !!
While the reset works it only resets parameters that are non adaptive. I know from speaking to Vadim that the 63 ECU is just more detailed and complex. This is why the ECU tune on the 63 has been slightly more difficult to master.

Personally, I was never able to make the ECU reset work on my E63 the same way it did on my C32 or my friends S55. On my E63, I've done it so many times in so many ways and was just not able to notice any difference. When I used to do it on my C32, there was definitely a difference
