HID question

alright so i installed the new style headlights on my e500. only problem now is that i still have that flickering problem and i believe its because of my ballast. it makes this weird winding-hissing sound. so what i wanted to know is that i have two ballast from my 1998 E39 5 series bmw. would those ballast work for my E and if i tried to plug them up, would they mess something up. oh and another question, I bought a gutter guard to use as my mesh which looks really good for only spending 5 dollars on but i was wondering if anybody had any ideas on how to keep it stuck onto the amg bumper, its a aftermarket bumper and i took off my old gutter guard that i had on there because it was getting tore up. any ideas. Thanks in advance.

Not sure what part you are looking for now, but explain it for us. Are you looking to add the E63 fogs to an E55 bumper? Or are you trying to get your E55 fogs to fit an E63 bumper? LOL, I'm confused.

alright heres the thing. i bought an aftermarket e55 amg bumper. then instead of buying the Mesh from the dealer for like 300 i went to homedepot and got some gutter guards in replace of it. it works as the same thing for only 5 bucks not 300. only problem is i dont know how to keep the mesh (gutter guard) to stick to the bumper. the old gutter guard i had installed when i got the bumper painted was a bad kind and caught every little thing when i was driving. so this one has bigger holes and looks a lot better. when i got it installed the bodyshop used fiberglass to keep it on there. but i dont have fiberglass. i wanted to know if anybody would know what to use instead.

Ahhh, I get it.

Are you anywhere near a marina? Any boat repair place can do that for almost nothing. Where are you? There are plenty of guys in SD that can do that on the side. Take soem closer pics, I'd be into something different.

A few dabs of goop (ask at autozone or such), or melt the mesh into the plastic with a solder gun. Both ideas work under the impression that you cut the mesh to leave "edges" and it's not just cut flat.

I actually used the same material on my Busa to cover the holes in the fairing, both ways work equally well. Note the mesh just to the right of the chrome sticker...............
