Hard grinding noise?!?
I have a heavy grinding noise that seems to be coming from my front right wheel. Almost sounds as if the brake pads are worn and grinding on the disc. I know it is a long shot on anyone out there knowing what it could be but I thought I would post anyway just in case it is a known issue. I don't know it itmight be wheel bearings or anytjing else. My car has 55k and is an 03. I am going to schedule any appointment for it to get looked at here in the next few days. Anyone want to take a stab at what it might be. I was also thinking it was just tire noise. That is almost what it sounds like, but louder.
Thanks in advance,
Ty

As lifted from the Signal to Noise website -
Ball Joints, Tie Rods, and Wheel Bearings
To see if the ball joints are dead, raise the wheel check for vertical play when pushed from the bottom. Just grab the wheel at 12 and 6 o’clock and see if there’s any play. If not, but there is play at 9 and 3 o’clock, that might be bearings. Of course, it could be the tie rods too.
So, what happens if
The ball joints are bad? - Camber wear and clunking noise
The tie rods are bad? - Feathered tire wear
Worn bearings? - Loud noise at speed and steering wander.
