I love how the thread turns into "your gonna get shot, watch out, keep quiet, etc..."
I love the chance to laugh at any AMG, or M car poser that I see. So very lame and they need to be embarased.

I think the issue of the use of guns should always be a consideration in this day and age. Too many people settle their differences with firearms. No common sense. Not to offend you, but who cares if a guy is a poser if you have the real thing? I used to have that mentallity when I was younger but now, I don't really care. I just look and laugh.

Nah, it was a fake. Next time, you guys get sound clips, hi-def video, and a sworn affadavit by the ownee as proof of ownership. I'm having the attorneys work on the packet as we speak.

The CLK430 and S430 with AMG badging on it may come from the factory that way. I had a 2001 CLK430 that came from the factory with AMG badging and factory chrome AMG wheels so it's possible they came like that, would you call that posing?

That is posing. At best it may have been a terrible attempt by the dealer. In this case shame on them. The factory wouldn't do this.

So what your saying is that you were a poser but didn't realize it.
![rolf](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif)
BTW, Mercedes will not chrome their wheels, so that's something else done to it prior to your ownership but NOT by the factory?
I had a car dealer bring in a S class a few weeks ago and told me it was a S500. I made a note on the repair order that it was rebadged, and is a S430.
See it all the time. You can pose by taking the emblems off too, ie. 300E 2.6, just remove the 2.6 and now you have a 300E.

Would it matter if I ever got taunted? I have a REAL 600 and had a REAL 55, so it never would have made it difference would it?
I'm not trying to tell you what to do bro, just looking out for you in all honesty. The last topic I want to see started here is: "forum member so-so killed over exposing loser". What IF, he pulls out a gun and takes the first shot and suddenly you have a new "rose wood" dash... it would be hard for you to return fire with your brains in the passenger seat wouldn't it?
I quite frankly happen to find this "game" rather immature. Hardly worth a life... or even the risking of one. Of course, it's your choice and you will do as you please, just keep in mind not everyone finds it funny and people have been killed for less.

I don't believe in unecessary confrontation either as the reward generally isn't worth the potential risk...esp in NYC since you're bound to run into that person again...
However, we're all adults and we all take calculated risks from time to time. While some of these calculated risks aren't exactly "mature" (e.g. racing on the highway, calling out posers, drinking and driving, etc ) it doesn't change the fact that we all make our own decisions.
As such, while I don't think what Chicago did was necessary, it's his life, his decision, and there's no point criticizing it...
...especially since he's the author if the E55 Owner's Constitition.

On a different note. I had a customer of mine pull up in a nice new black S550 (not a bad car at all) with S600 badges. He was trying to explain to me (the car guy) of his twin turbo 12. After i do a double take i procede to explain to him how to properly put on the fake badges if he must or if he was sold a s600 to go back and exchange it or get some $$ back. He was speechless and replied. "oh you really know your cars" What a tool

Sometimes a rebadging maybe justified.
A few years ago, I knew a guy who re-badged his new 420 SEL because his wife insisted on a 560 SEL like the neighbors'.
She never knew the difference and he saved a few $thousand.
(as Bryan Adams once said; "would it hurt her if she didn't know?)
He said he had to alert the service advisor to his scheme as there were some mechanical differences.

I have never done a rebadge, but can say I see it all the time and know someone who did a rebadge and then tried to act like it was what he had rebadged it too. Never called him out on it. its a newer ML350 rebadged to a 550. Lol...two cars which sound totally different IMO.
I personally like seeing them debaged. Makes me curious about it. Unless you really are in an AMG... in that case wear your emblem and

4 wheels
I could well be wrong given the one photo but that looks like a real W210 E55. Exhaust looks 100% real and it has the E55 tinted taillights. The wheels are the correct style and the ride height looks the part too.
Many poor body shops dont have a clue how to fix a trunk if it is painted and they sick the badges in the wrong locations.
If I am wrong, I take back my comments but I am not 100% sure the comments were just at this point!

Only the badges look misplaced, perhaps the owner was in an accident and the bodyshop misplacedthe badges?

2007 S550 (S65 Package)
POSERS, see if they werent posers then they wouldnt put anything on their car like me, i have an e500 debadged with lots of differenr mods on it and it could easily be looked at and seen as a 55. but i will tell people that it is in fact a 500 not a 55. then theres those POSERS who get 320, 430, 500's etc. and put amg or 55, v12 on their car and that makes them posers. just my 2 cents dont flame me if you dont think thats how it is

I know what you mean when you say the exhaust tip looked glued on, I saw an "M3", and you could see through the glued on fake exhaust tips right to the bumper. I hate it when people throw an AMG badge on a non-amg car, its just tacky, and its basically "German rice".

Pretty sure that's a real w210 E55. Exact same shape/placement exhaust tips, imagine it would be hard to find those at pep-boys. Correct wheels, although they are chromed, they are the correct wheels. AMG body kit and no "sport" badge in front of the front doors, so at least a V8. And properly smoked tail lights, not fully smoked. Just misplaced badges, very common after body work.
Either that or this guy spent a good amount of money making his E320 look like an E55. Yet he didn't know what side to put the badges on? Sounds too close to me to be a clone.
But I could be wrong.

yeah here in LA you see a lot of 430's, 500's, and now 550's badged with AMG. a lot of the dealers put them on the cars and new owners dont know. my fav and i wish i had a pic was a guy that had an sl500 with a really nice 55 rebadge done to it even the exhaust looked good till i saw the brakes and knew it wasnt a 55 also heared the exhaust. so i asked why go through all that trouble to fool people that dont matter. he got mad and said i didnt know **** and that it was a real 55. i said cool want a little light to light action he replies with the your car wouldnt make it past the intersection! will see i told him. he floored it off at the light and he couldnt pull on me. told him yeah that must be the real thing and made a right to head to work.
people in LA love to make people think they have more then they really do look at all the nockoffs we have out here. so sad.
