Dude, I'd love to come out and play. PM me your info and I'll email you mine. Do you only 1/4 mile it or other tracks, too?

One of my good friends (also a forum member) has an E55 with Evo pulley and tune, as well as some minor exhaust work. He drove my stock Z06 and said that I would take him by multiple lengths and theres no point in running...hopefully I'll get to run him anyway in the upcoming months.

Bobby,
How is it going bro? Can't wait to see that ride of yours? If your friend only has EVo pulley and tune, yes you will take him by multiple lengths.. So do you have any kills under your belt yet?

Hey psu... since you are close, lets hook up in a week or so at the Q for some 1/8th mile comparisons. Maybe even go for a ride and swap cars?[/QUOTE]

I am definitely up for that!! I want to see what my car can actually do.

Do any forum guys meet up on weekends to compare cars?

Sweet!! I am free this weekend, so let me know. I'm sure some of the SDCrew would roll, too. I just gotta see if VRP is done with it by then.

I'm really liking it...only complaint is lack of backseat for some ...but I take my parents Escalade ESV for that LOL.

I got a few kills, modded Evo, Stage III S4 (remember good old Marc? Go to the Kill forums to read up on that), E60 M5, SRT-4 with a big Garrett turbo (wouldn't give me specs but everyone was afraid of him), and about 50 others that I just had fun with while driving around. I challenged an M6 and a 996TT the other night but they were both afraid to run me. Hopefully we'll get some more good runs going over the summer. I don't wanna go near your car though

Don't forget about that Porsche Carrera S that literally ran away from you when you asked him!

The Z06 is no joke..

The black one in the video I posted of the VR675 car we built (white E55) has 700hp N/A.. We lined them up on a roll.. from 50km/h the Z06 pulled so hard it put about 5 cars on the E55 almost instantly.. After that, it keeps going and going.. 4th gear is long as hell in those cars.. Even though they were only 25hp apart, you would of sworn it was a Yugo racing the vette.

I was riding shotgun in the Z06.. Believe me, I was pulling for the E55 but there was just no chance.. its 1,000lbs lighter.. E55 needs more power than the Z06 its racing in order to compensate.

Z06, 3100lbs = 6.14lbs per hp
E55, 4200lbs = 8.5lbs per hp

No disrespect, but you'll be needing a slight bump in power to play with a 1100HP C6Z TT, 600HP won't cut it! The dyno I posted was at 14psi on pump gas, we're looking to run it at 18psi when the new motor has more miles....the goal is to break 1000rwhp!

How well did you fair against the C6Z (assuming he's stock)?

Here's a friend's C6 TT vert (650rwhp) vs a slightly modded C6Z (510rwhp)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fwr4uZBosoM
As you can see what FI does to these cars.

A custom rollcage is in the works, then it goes to the track. Both my C6 TT and the C6Z TT will be running the next Texas Mile looking to break 200.

i have both... drove my e55 from sf to reno to see van halen this past weekend and swore it was faster than my Z06...... drove my z06 today and swear it's faster than my e55. seriously they make good garage mates.. they are both great cars to drive in their respective ways.... i just have bolt ons on my Z still deciding if i would ever need the additional HP by adding heads/cam/etc. hp increase per dollar is far greater with the Z, easily over 600 rwhp normally aspirated for less than 5k ...

I didn't mean to imply that I would even be competitive, I just wanted to come to the track and play. I have much respect for modded vettes. Been used by plenty.

All the runs were on the freeway. From what you all say, it must have been stock. Basically, I just had more jump on him and waaay more top end pull. I guess I'll have to get my video camera out. I can't explain it any other way. It wasn't close and we tried at least 20 times.

Again, I do not deny what a modded vette can do.

Sorry I'm in NY lol.

This was one of my recent races against a car that runs under 11.7 and traps over 120mph. Your E55 traps around what, 124ish? I think you'd have a great race against a stock Z06 on the highway.

470 rwhp would be an amazing on a stock Z06... normally with full bolt ons, long tube headers, ported tb,ported intake, cold air induction and a tune gets you to 470/480 on very very low mileage car... same mods on a car with a few thousand miles will take you to 500 rwhp...

i had all of the above installed on mine at the 500 mile break in and the car dynoed 482rwhp... as i have put more miles on it it does seem to have picked something up. i did see recent dyno vette forum of a 08 with 9000 miles and the same mods and tune put up 501 rwhp and 476ft.lbs of torque... my baseline dyno was 440 rwhp. heads and medium cam will get it over 600rwhp.

It's a C6Z with bolt-ons, I know the owner of both cars. You can see the Z06 emblem on the rpm gauge at 00.39 sec. of the video...check it.

Didn't you rent a reg-NON Z51 Automatic A4 speed C6, w/slowest lame 2.73 gearing a while back? Guess you need to rent a Z06 or bust out your spectacles

1 of my best friends bought an 07' Z06 last yr, w/less than 1,000 miles on her, I told him to take the Z to LAPD, all he had done was vararam cai, & full dyno tune, he got 500 rwhp, baseline was in the 460- range.

I have seen many dynos, & yes some are a low as 435-440, but the average seem to be 450+ rwhp there's also 1 forum member w/the factory freak! it was even in a magazine, he got 490 something rwhp BONE stock!!!

I'll try and find it.....

I should know. Mine sit next to each other in the garage (08 C6 Convertible -- 436hp).
I think that it is dependant on driver and if the C6 is an automatic. My E55 has never been treatened by a stock C6 non Z06.

There is quite a bit of variance in the stock E55s, they can be MFs like enzom's or they can have the usual 420RWHP.

Another factor is what temp it is, E55s love cool air and will make significantly more HP below 55F.

Sorry to break it to you, but you are wrong on a couple of area. First being the 470hp dyno figure. I own a stock 2007 Z06 I have had it on two seperate dynos it made 422 on one and 420 on the other. You are also off a little bit on weight. The Z06 it a hair under 3300lbs if I am not mistaken an E class (without driver) is under 4000 pounds. When European companies post a vehicle weight it includes a driver and a full load of fuel and fluids, I believe Chevy publishes a "dry weight" on their cars and trucks. I would guess there is no more than 650 pounds difference between the two.

Also, the person who stated stock Z06's can run 11.0's-11.6's all day is way off. Maybe an 11.6 on a lucky pass, but not on a regular basis. I of all people should know, I have had an NHRA license for 15 years and regularly compete in several classes and have won championships in a couple classes in the 1990's. I have had my Z06 at 6 different drag strips in prime track and weather conditions and the best she will muster is 11.86's. There was another thread on hear last week and people were claiming to have seen "stock Z06's running high 10.0's....NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN. Stock means STOCK, tires, air filters no ECU programming. I ALSO REFERRING TO NOT CORRECTED E/T's

I agree w/that gearing + A4 auto that ride would be a large step-back from a Z51 model w/3.42 gearing or even A4 w/3.15 gearing!

Brave soul, admitting you ran a Z06 and beat it around here. Surprised no one has yet called bs or pulled the good ol' "No way, not a Z06! driver driver blah blah"
