again.. if you change the gearing.. it wont be.

you want the gears to keep the revs in the power band... you know how when you are running at high RPM and shift into 6th, and even 5th, the RPMs fall and the car bogs down? that doesnt have to happen. if you change 5th and 6th to shorter gears, you will hit top speed in 6th.. and get there even faster... thus making the car 'faster' with out adding hp or dropping weight.

if you can get someone to cut the gears for you.. yes.. you can put any rear end you want in it. dont be stupid. you cant get 'true Z06 4:10s' because there is just not enough demand to justify the cost of someone making them. It does not mean it can't be done. go give DTE or rodney $100k and I'm sure they can make you some.

everyone wants to compare apples to oranges.. to prove which car is better. it ridiculous.. there are way to many variables that most people don't understand..

they are two different cars. throw enough money at either and it will be faster. doesnt make it a 'better' car.

Poor baby, I feel kind of sad that you would need to rely on mommy to get you a 'Vette....you should go out, forge a strategic business plan and work hard for your goal so you can afford one like I did. Parents didn't pay for .02 cents of this car....but like I said before, this is very off topic and a complete waste of a conversation.

As far as 4.10 gears go - There are very few shops that will install these. They do make a very nice difference, but it isn't a common mod and if Zlicious doesn't have them, I wouldn't make a big deal out of it...most guys don't.

I do not know that much about Vettes, I knew there were several rear gears available for the C6, so I just assumed they were options on the Z06 as well. Either way this should be a good race, both cars will have near equall HP and be within 300 pounds of one another. Whatever the outcome there's one thing for sure, both cars are going to be rockets!

Here's what I hate about internet car guys.

I didn't do anything in this forum. Two guys were bench racing, then were lining up a street race to 'settle' things. I said 'hey, that's stupid' #1 cause modded cars are no judge of which car is better. #2 cause street racing is for idiots. #3 cause theyre two different cars made for 2 different purposes.

Since I had no posts under my name and no "MB Cred", I was immediately jumped by the followers with very little knowledge of cars. Which is a shame, and which is why most internet forum dudes know very little. Even corvette forum guys were called in by the Z06 half of the 'street race'.

Now all of a sudden I get called out by some guy with a big mouth.. told to "put up or shut up"... told to "bring money". Thats a fine hello btw.. So, OK. Fine. I tell him I'll put up.

But he's no where to be found. So, now the rest of the the peanut gallery starts in with the "give it up, kid", "we need a mod to dislodge you".. "we have fast cars, you do not"..

What is that?

It's all very amusing to me, and this entire thread just perpetuates the image of 'net benz guy' being no better than 'net honda guy'.

Doesn't anyone else get it?


PS. Why are there so many p-car, bmw, z06, and 'waiting list' owners in a bens forum?
