E55 guys, is this normal?
However, since the good weather has arrived, I've been driving my car harder, and I noticed that after 3-5 hard acceleration bursts in a row, my supercharger still shuts off
. Is this normal with an updated 06 pump?I even drove a G55 Kompressor, and tried the same 3-5 hard bursts, and the supercharger was working fine...

Serious bro.......
It's gonna get even worse. Not sure about the G Wagon but yours is gonna get worse as it gets warmer.
My breaking point was when a guy in a Maxima passed me and with supercharger off due to heat soak, I barely was able to pass him back. He was all smiling and nodding his head like, "Oh no you did-int"

I was under impression that if I'm not running a larger pulley, I don't need cooling mods. Guess its time for - 10 C cooling mod and a Johnson CM30, there is just no way around it.

Is this normal with an E55?
There has been a stack of comment on this subject but nowhere (correct me if I'm wrong) has anyone posted that it normal for the S/C to shut off after a short period when all other associated parts are working fine.
So.. Does anyone who had their 55 from new remember S/C shutting off after a few high speed bursts?????

I have noticed that the car feels slower when it's hot and the first summer I had the car I installed a Johnson CM30 pump because I thought the Bosch wasn't up to the task. It made no difference at all. I was just used to the power from the winter months when it was cool.

Maybe a failing intercooler pump??
If you have a pulley and ecu tune that rule goes out the window as the car will likely shut down after several long pulls.
AMG has made the car pretty reliable as far as cooling goes (a stock pulley) and it should rarely shut down. The fact that the G55k worked fine shows that your car has an issue still.
I have had 3 pumps go bad in a matter of a month. Also check the relay that controls the pump as those tend to fail causing the pump to shut down.
Good luck
Best way is to take a tech out with you and reproduce the runs and show him the supercharger shuting off, that is if it is actuly shuting off...
The pump's inherent design is faulty and can/will fail with no notice.
For $135, the Johnson CM030 is a quick and cheap fix.
+1. If you're under warranty I would not install cooling mods, unless you have a great relationship with your local dealer and they say "go for it" (and even then its a risk). I have a warranty and I wouldn't do it, FWIW.
Keep going back until its fixed. Take a tech for a ride with you, demonstrate it for them. They'll always say "can't replicate."
Gluck

It was 82 wonderful degrees here today...thank god (or man) for global warming! So I expect that this summer will be a bit warmer and will see alot of IC shutdown in 100 degreeplus days.
Again, if anyone is having a problem with the SC cutting out, it's not normal at all...as many members have said, they run their cars in extreme heat and don't have a problem. Granted the car runs very hot, but this should never happen when the car is functioning properly.
