After a few months driving the E63, I borrowed my wife's Expedition. I get to the first stoplight and when I press the brake pedal - NO RESPONSE. I almost had a heart attack, while I was thinking of accident avoidance maneuvers, (Should I just steer into a ditch?) I eventually was able to apply enough braking force, and it came to a stop. Whew!
Turns out there was nothing wrong with the Ford, - they all do that!
Then its my turn to enter into traffic. I see an opening, make my move, hit the gas and -- NO RESPONSE. I nearly got rear ended! so I'm thinking the Expedition must have a broken throttle cable or water in the gas tank. Not so! again it turns out,- they all do that!
When I finally returned from my near death experiences, I threw the keys at my wife and asked if she was trying to get me killed or something?
How come no one warned me about this? The E63 has made all other cars a menace to drive.

Surprised you didn't see the disclaimer/warning on the car when you bought it. Should say...
This car is not for the faint of heart.

This is one of the reasons why I hate getting tail gated by big SUV's.

Its not just Ford even some old benzs do not compare to AMG cars. I nearly crashed twice due to the car not stoping the way or distance i am used to. Makes you happy to get back in it again!

My wife chose an Expedition for her vehicle and wonders why I refuse to drive it in all but the most extreme of circumstances. It's comfortable on long trips, but is just horrendous to drive around town.
If she gets another one, its getting supercharged before it ever sets a tire in the garage.

I had a similar experience when I had an SL55. My wife was driving a G500 at the time. Once I had to take G instead of my car and rear ended a poor Lexus
. G breaks were nothing like the SL55.
My insurance skyrocketed -- it was my fault. AMG or M breaks spoil you and you have to be carefull when driving other cars, especially SUVs.
