Just got my E55 back from the dealer...
Got my pulley swapped for an 07 SL55 pulley
New tranny fluid
Tranny upgrade softtware
Service B
Some other software uprade that I forgot about
And they replaced the big piece of woodgrain on the dash (small stress crack)
They told me not to drive it hard for the first 100 miles (I gave them a confused look) "give the pulley a change to settle in"
As I drove back, I realized that my car was running much much smoother, and the throttle respose was pretty good too.
I think I need to do this once every few months.
Bad part- I need to take it back for brakes soon

When they swap the s/c pulley, the replace the entire clutch pack as well. I had it done a few weeks back when the s/c pulley bearing went bad. Since there is a technical bulletin on this, the dealer replaced even with all the mods.

But it does raise an interesting question. I'm wondering if there are any size or dampening differences on the '07 crank pulley? I'll check out the part nos. this weekend.

Ok ok, now I get it. The clutch pack was revised in late '05 on all '06 models and beyond. There are issues with the bearing, because of the harshness. I knew there was a TSB out and I had heard having an oversized lower pulley would not void that part, BUT any dealer a$$ could still flag the car. Always go to who you trust and take care of them like they do you.
SHIAT!!! I forgot to say my SC was bogging

Please don't waste your money.
Get a set of Akebono (or Pagid or other low dust composite) and change them yourself.
Less than 1 hour of labor ... even for the unskilled like me.
Don't use stock MB pads, the dust level is atrocious compared to other pads.

How much do the other pads cost... And you have no right to call yourself unskilled... you have no idea how little I know about cars. Its sad really
