I was hoping that AMG wold put turbo on next E63

Just doesen't seem to have the sizzle of the current E63 or even the older E55

 

amg better get their sh*t together. if they want to go the direction of the m5 (like the e63 was supposed to do) they better step it up because the m5 is scheduled/rumored to have a 550hp 5.5l v10 tt for 2011!!!

You are right. I just thought that 550hp isn't too far away with current V8 6.2
So I assumed that it was same engine. It could have turbo. I hope they do

 

Wait, the twin turbo and the displacement increase is only going to add 50 HP to the current output?

I hope the AMG version is better looking...If I wanted my MB to look like a GM (front view) car, I'd be over there. The front is boring and too busy at the same time...the rear reminds me of a Camry for some reason.

 

All good. I am not sure how autospy can come up with these numbers by just pictures. For all we know that spypicture could have a 650 hp engine under it. Until it debuts we can only speculate. And we really shouldn't get all fired up under speculation.....

 

Here's what I don't get guys? Maybe someone can provide insight.

We've all read the rumors (lot of them lately) that a TTV8 is a 100% go from Mercedes. If it is not rolled out with the new W212, then with what?? Is this very much unlike Mercedes to just throw out a new engine line without even tying it to a new model? Is there anything scheduled to come out in 2011?? New C63 is already out, E will be fresh out, and new SL body style will be well out. Just don't know how they are going to tie this all in. With the new CL???

You know how Benz is, "Also new on the W212 is the introduction, for the first time ever of the new Mercedes twin turbo V8 (blah blah blah tech features and firsts)

Guess now that I think about it, that is EXACTLY what Benz did with the 6.3. All the sudden the E55 was the E63 with slight front end change. Nevermind.......carry on.

 

There are so many rumors floating around about the supposedly upcoming engine from AMG that I can't keep up. Lets see.....

• We've heard of a 6.2L TT
• We've heard of a 6.2L Supercharged
• We've heard of a 5.5L V8 TT
• We've heard of a 5.0L TT (one with low boost and another with high boost).
• Finally, we've heard they'll keep the current 6.2L NA but increase power to 544 hp and another version with 610 hp.

Which one is it going to be?

Too bad it's not an ECU tune away from healing the damage the ugly stick did to it...If I wanted a fast and sporty ugly car, I'd get the Subaru WRX and pocket the rest of the money to make it really fast.
