E63 NAV Question

Got some question on the E63 Navigation.

Today I was trying to put Harbor MotorSports address, but it will not allow me to specify the street number. It will only give me a list of range numbers.
Does your E63 NAV has problem like that. The sales told me that DVD is 2008 verison?

Any help or hints will be great. I have tried many different address, it shows the same. So how does the NAV get me to the exact address if the street number is in certain range.
Thats look strange.

Is there a more updated version out there that will fix this problem?

I took some pictures.

I can't put any numbers except press "HSE. NO"

900-1098 ? HMS street number is 1021 N.

Regards
CED

Depends on the weather
The only solution I could come up with was to buy a Tom-Tom when I really wanted to actually find a location.
The MB gps is a terrific piece of garbage.

+1 Unfortunately that it is very true..... the MB navigation sucks. However, the new generation introduced in the S-Class, the new C-Class, and the upcoming W212 E-Class, has been improved at least 10 fold.

CED, my E63 navigation is the same way. I don't think there is a way to select an exact number. And every time you try to enter an exact number, it'll pick up the closest range but the good news is...... it'll land you very close to where you want to be...

It just doesnt make sense...all of my previous MB's i could put an exact address in and no problems...but with this E63 I can only get a range...not exact...must be a setting or something...seems like BS to me...whats the point?!?!?

2006 E55 has similiar GPS and I am only able to select range of numbers also. Guess what happen yesterday when I used it to navigate to a house? I drove pass it before my wife informed me I miss the house by half a block When it comes to GPS I really miss my Lexus. But I still preferred to drive the MB despite of the lousy GPS.

Couldn't agree more. The MB nav is light years behind the nav system in my Lexus. Also annoying is the lack of detail in the maps. Even in the most zoomed in screen, there are numerous street names that are omitted.

But I still love my E63

The E63 Nav system works fine. For a business you have to look for the sign on a building anyway, and same for a residence, where you just make sure you are at the correct number. I have had a Lexus most recently before my E63, and it wasn't much better, just made you think it was precise by using the exact number entry.

Hmm, I find the Lexus nav to be extremely precise. When it states that I've arrived at my destination, it's pretty spot-on. And it's nice that the voice guidance indicates whether the destination is on the left/right of the street. Heck, even the nav system in my dad's Escalade functions far better than the E63 nav.

The only negative to the Lexus system is that you can't input a destination while the vehicle is moving. Here's hoping the W212 brings some much needed improvements.

Even better than the Lexus Navigation system is the Acura Navigation System. You can set a destination while the car is moving because it can be set 100% using voice commands. Acura's voice command system is very nicely integrated into the navigation system.

i thing i miss the most on MB navi is the ability to see cross street names on the map...

last time i checked, there was rumor the next generation MBs will be equipped with Google-powered navi...

Agree 100 %

The people that complain do not understand how the Nav works. The problem is operator error and lack of experience. I can under stand though how many value a dumbed down nav that even a blond can operate with out reading the instructions.
