Wow - lot's of activity on this one, wish y'all the best of luck. I had to laugh reading through this at the guys excuses. We ship 100's of packages via DHL - and all of them are international shipments - and I think we have had DHL "lose" one in the last year, and they eventually figured out what happened to that one.
On a side note, and possibly as material for a sticky :
1] Would be really interesting to know the results of the charge back. I know the vendor has up a window (60 days?) to protest the charge back.
2] Was told by one of my friends who does do a lot of Internet sales that chargebacks via 3rd party purchasing systems generally did not work out well. (ie credit cards don't provide much protection when the "vendor" that the CC company deals with is PayPal or Google). Again - I'd be curious if anyone has any experience here?
3] Dealing with international purchases (and I know that's not the case here), MasterCard will not accept for dispute charges originated outside the country where the card is based. Anyone else run into this one, or had better results with a different branded card? (I've heard AMEX is better, but never had to deal with it?)
Again - best of luck tracking this a$$hat down!

I actually grew up next to Bridgewater / Brockton. Something like this out of Brockton wouldn't surprise me. Based on the NAV screen, I looked around Google maps. Not too far from either Boston or Brockton....

Put in the Best Buy Location.
Put in Bridgewater State College.
Sure it's 30 miles from the Boston location, but if you were scamming people this hard, what means would you go to to stay anonymous. The Best Buy is only 12 miles from the College.

Wow...You guys are doing great!
The local authorities here are aware of this thread and watching everything that is happening...so keep up the good work!
As far as the chargebacks, I really am more interested in making sure this guy never gets the money and is nailed. I am pretty sure Discover card will be charging Google checkout a chargeback...just hope Googlecheckout did not clear the funds to this scum.

Wow great photo editing there to reveal the tags! I'm enjoying the awesome work by everyone in this thread and I'm on an iPhone using Edge! Aargh! Sucks to be on travel status with no wifi around...
So there you go Brockton PD, please PLEASE apprehend this thief and scammer ASAP. Please do not be lenient. Consumer fraud across interstate lines is a serious offense! Don't let this idiot scam more people!!

Partial Rear Tag on Jag in BestBuy parking lot
This one is very problematic for a variety of reasons that would bore anybody except vraa!
I'll continue to work on it to see if I can discern the last 3 numbers.
In essence, the moron/scammer has photo editing software. However, he either doesn't know how to use Photoshop properly (hence his inability to rasterize and flatten layers) or he has some lesser software that doesn't give him this ability.

We did not sidetracked on the Fairfax. He asked if we could make out what was on the Nav on the jag, which showed Fairfax. He may have been there at one point. The focus is, and will stay on Boston. Now that we know the plate numbers, someone can run them. I am sure we are connected enough to do this in a very short manner.
Most thieves are not too bright, this is obvious in this case. Like I said, the fat lady has started her concerto of the desperado. LOL.
I am sure someone is running these plates, if not, I can give them to the FPD that stays right across the street from me. He hates thieves and whoops em up all the time.

I did some looking and looks like all his car pics were taking infront and behind the BEST BUY where he works or worked while attending school? HMMM This guy is going to be facing some very serious charges. FTC , and the FBI should be utilized as this is interstate fraud and covered by FEDERAL laws. Amazing work by membership here, amazing.

Has anyone identified which Best Buy that this is? This would also help nail it in.

Wow, boohooramblers! That's amazing. I guess I'll think twice about posting pictures of my cars on the internet from now on since I'm not bright enough to get rid of the completely.

Does anyone know the number to a local TV station in Boston? The TV coverage will put some more heat on him and possibly cause someone who knows him to turn him in.
This guy is way past felony at this point and has proven himself a serial thief.
He has robbed at least 5 people that are known on here, possibly one on e46 forum and an unknown number on ebay. and probably a lot more we don't know about.
I really want to rip his face off or smash his head in.

bimmerfest refugee checking in!
Hi, there was a post over on bimmerfest about this and I joined this board just to shoot my mouth off! This reminds me of the situation I guess about a month ago with a guy named dooma350 who had won an ebay auction for a BMW but the dealership tried to weasel out of selling it to him. There ended up literally being hundreds of pages of posts with the story going worldwide on all the car boards and blogs, and people checking in and posting their support from all over the world. There was also (IMHO over the top overreaction) a big hate campaign against the dealership, and attorneys on both sides fighting it out, with lots of mudslinging and personal attacks, and various board attorneys weighing in.
Anyway, those of you with contacts on some of the big car news boards might want to alert the editors about this thread. If nothing else, it is another example of the power of the Internet and 'netters, as well as computer forensics at its finest.
Also, as I've read through these posts, I'm just wondering if anyone has considered that maybe the Jag & MB aren't really the scammer's cars, but are as fake as the tires. Why do you believe they are his cars? I wonder if this guy isn't somewhere in Nigeria running his scam? although the US IP addresses do support that he isn't, and the Brockton Best Buy is consistent with the rest of the data. And think about this...if the guy is a college student, where did he get the $$$ to buy cars like that?

Ben, youre killin me, lol...
As I have already stated 3 times THAT is the brockton, MA best buy... I worked at best buy during college... not that one, but best buy. When I wanted to abuse my discount, I went to other best buys... that was one of them.
I am from outside boston and am familiar with the area
