Car Whore
i got my 335i piggyback tuned, and had the BMS intake installed at Terry's house (BurgerTuning). Along with the standard JB2 piggyback, I also got the X addon, which allows additional boost as well as a race map at the flip of a switch.

The car was pretty quick before, but its pretty damn quick now... and if I put in 100octane and turn the R switch on, I am willing to be its faster than my SL55.
With the R switch activated and 100octane, I can break the tires loose at 30 or 40 mph.

Wait until I get some downpipes and turn the boost even higher using the X addon. Right now I'm limited by my exhaust system as its fully stock.

Its definitely a nice car, but only if you get a fully equipped one. There are tons of people that dont even have navi

I'm considering trading in for a C63 at this point though

Wait till you see the 135i modded. Same motor in a lighter chassis. Its going to be brutal. For referance the porsche turbo only has a 3.6 ltr motor. GTR is 3.5 also IIRC. Those are big motors for turbo applications. The BMW having twin turbos and 3.5 lts is what makes it so potent when modded.

man i knew they were fast but able to stick with my e55 ??

anyone think there might be something wrong with my car? or maybe it was modded up the a-hole or something.
Don't feel bad, even with the Kleemann S/C I still gotten smoked by a 05 STi with just intake and cat-back a few time.

The 335i is a 3liter not a 3.5liter.

Also, 135i is not as light as you'd think. However, if/when they can bypass BMW's code tightening it will be a quick hatch, but then so is the new Impreza STi.

I have just about had it. We need to start a letter writing campaign humbly demanding the turbs from AMG.

Most likely all they get each day are letters from school kids asking them to make electric cars to save mother earth.

We need to make our voices heard.

Okay, that's it. I'm on this.
Amg is suppose to replace their current models with turbos!

"According to a new report, AMG will replace its still-new 6.2L V8 and 6.0L V12 twin-turbo engines with a brand new 5.0L V8 twin-turbo. There are several reasons behind the decision: the new 6.2L has horrendous fuel consumption at full throttle and it lacks the low-end grunt of the previous supercharged 5.5L V8

There will be several versions of the new force-fed 5.0L mill, a base version with 570hp and 665lb-ft of torque to replace the 6.2L V8 and a high-output 700hp/885lb-ft unit to replace the 612hp V12."

My IC pump is good guys, i have talked with my dealer and tryed to get the shut off on deman but i couldnt, for some reason, i do get the occasional every 2months it might go off(supercharger) but so far its still in the good stages of its life.

im sure i can take down the 335i aswell, but after doing some research i guess they are pretty quick, via Dragtimes.com once tuned. but tunning a car is like a honda civic, so basically stock for stock i can walk a 335i.
p.s. it was my first post, i didnt find a need to post esp. since i have all the info i need through reading and searching. sesshhh..

Not sure what you mean by that? I respect fast cars period whether if its a Honda Civic running 9s or a 335 running 11s. To each his own.

an intermittant pump failure (like most are) will not always give you a check engine light or be repeatable at will. if your supercharger shuts off AT ALL, you've got a bad pump...i don't care what line of bs your dealer tries to tell you. take control of that situation and make them replace the pump asap.

sorry, meant a 335i tuned is like a honda civic with turbos and such beating top of line cars, not that i dont like it, but i was speaking of stock cars vs stock instead of bringing along a tuned car vs a stock car, which seemed to be my situation, cuz i know i can beat a stock 335i.

so my IC pump is bad? wtf, how much does it cost with labor to get it fixed? will it happen again, i mean last it happened( it shut off) was about 2 months ago, been working good since, did it about 3 times since i owned the car.

thanks for the feedback

yes your i/c pump is bad. it's a warranty fix and shouldn't cost you anything. if you're out of warranty buy a johnson cm30 pump and you can install it yourself or have the whole thing done (parts and labor) for less than $200.

A modded 335 is possible, but who cares? anything modded can go pretty fast....

stock 335 is slow like a damn pig, you should have raped her if you doing 35-100. everytime I drive my wife's 335 to work I want to cry because on freeway it has no juice at all and is to the point that you will think "WTF is my engine dead?"

I'm no mathematician, but I do know two things:

E = MC squared

and

AMG > ///M

The 335 is not even part of that equation. In the end, a modded civic can "beat me", but can it get footprints on the ceiling like my E55 can?

No.

Thank you very much.

Not surprised to see these modded 335i keeps up with the 55s and thats why there are pullies and ECU tunes for sale.

The 335i turbo kicks in pretty early. At ~2,000rpm, it got the max torque all the way up to 5,000 when the turbo starts to lose boost. I am just talking about a stock car!! With mods, the same thing would still happen, but even quicker.

So almost at any point of time, this beast will move quick while we are still climbing up the torque hill.

Agree that, "With pulley and ECU, this will never happen again", but then we are talking about 550+ crank hp, a C6 would be a better subject to play with.

Really? I would've thought the W120 55 would certainly hang with one unless heavily modded

lets just say those thing are "quick" 0-60 not bad but won't beat E55/63

after 60, they will be slaughtered by 55 or 63.

however any turbo can be modded to the point that beating a lot of fast car at stock.

Yeah, those 335i's are fast. I even have to put my latte in the cup holder and press the 'S' button before I watch it disappear in the rearview. My doors stay firmly attached.

I have no doubt that a 335i is a fast car with mods, it's just that out of the 100 I see every day, maybe only 1 of them has mods, so I have no fears of unleashing the beast when necessary
