You're right TKLEI, I would go so far as to say don't buy from people with low post counts that you can't meet to do the deal.
When I saw the original post, I almost responded, "Oh pick me, I want to buy from a guy with 2 (3?) posts."
Then I thought maybe I was being a jerk and didn't make the post.
Always trust your gut ... when will I learn?

If I try to sell something on a forum that I dont post much on, I usually try to give a link to a forum I have alot of posts on. This person in question is obviously a scammer and only joined this forum to scam people out of money.
Other forums I'm on have rules like, you must have 50 posts or be a member for 45 days to post a for sale thread. Not picking on the mods for this one, but people should not be able to have 'for sale' threads posted in any other area then the classified section.

I like the idea of a minimum post and "time in service" requirement. i have seen guys on other boards post 25 - 50 times in an hour or so and say nothing just to get the post count up in order to list in the classifieds. It really does make it difficult buy something on the boards with jerks like this out there. I have backed out on a few things on this board because I got cold feet at the last minute paypal-ing 2-3 grand for classified listings. It is too bad.
what to do?

Terrifying!! I actually considered those.
There's a special place in hell for scammers.![action](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/action1.gif)
If this does turn out to be a scam, talk to/pm admins. They have all the IP info...least it's a start.

Easy way around it! when I sell something I always send it first then you can pay me. The few things I have bought I send Check first let it clear then send my product! I use check so I have at least a record of who cashed it. I also only deal with people I seen on the boards never a newbi.

Yeah, I know of him from the M3form. He has ripped tons of people off. One of the board members that owns a shop in Socal installed a carbon fiber roof, carbon fiber door panels, and other carbon fiber goods for this guy. Well, he claimed the work was not professional and ended up not paying for the services. Also, the 1000hp M3 he sold in 2006, he has it listed for sale on M3form and on E46Fanatics. His display name is TAZAM3 if anyone wants to take action
