I am getting ready to buy a 2005 E55 and wanted to know what is the biggest size wheel and tires I can put on there without any problems.

I just got 20s with 245/35 on the front and 285/30s on the back. Traction problems are reduced quite a bit. My car was in CES 2006 as a Diamond Audio demo car with 20s and so the fenders were all ready rolled. Now it will never rub at stock height. The only time I have had it rub at all is when i was in sports suspension 2 and went up a pretty good incline. Even then it was pretty minor.
Your best option is to run 245/30 on the front and 275/25 on the rear. You will never have rubbing at those specs from what I am told. My only experience is with what I have though.

Without any problems I would go 19's. I had 20's on my E55 and they looked great but it was a pain from time to time when I wanted to go to E-town and had to swap them out. So I decided to go with 18's.
