Lost to a regular vette?!?

Hey guys I purchased my E55 three weeks ago with 43k miles on it. It made exactly 496rwhp on a dynojet. Today I lost my first race to a regular vette He said he had 400+ rwhp and a 200 pound weight reduction and 4.10 gears. I saw this race on the internet and this is sort of what my race looked like:

http://media.putfile.com/Z06-vs-Renntech-E55

I see that the vette in the video had 60 more HP but my question is, does 4.10 gears and and a 200 pound weight reduction = the same thing as adding 60 HP?

I saw the power to weight ratio but the race shouldnt have been this bad maybe it was the gears?

Corvette C6. 3000 pounds divided by 400 = 7.5 pounds per HP
Mercedes E55 w/ pano roof. 4200 pounds divided by 496= 8.4 pounds per HP

I'm sorry if this starts a fight thats what hapenned and I just want to know if my car is slower than it should be? Tanks for any responses

496rwhp, uhh are you sure thats to the wheels and not crank? 496rwhp means you're E55 is quite heavily modded... is it?

If thats crank then you have around the same power to the wheels as the vette does, with a lot more weight.

No it's to the wheels. the previous owner showed me the dyno sheet. It has headers, throttle body, pulley, ECU, VRP airbox, and various cooling mods.

#1 you just did the math. and yes. 4:10s will make a big difference.

#2 he was probably fudging his HP numbers down and the previous owner of yours was probably fudging your numbers up.

4.10 gears wind those things up tighter than Joan Rivers' face.

That would be the big kicker. 200lb weight reduction really helps as well.

Yes they were. And I don't have a way of uploading any pictures but I am going to get it re-dynoed in a couple of days. If I can find a shop open on saturday.

Would a throttle body make that much of a differance if it wasn't there? I looked at the car and as far as I can tell everything is there. I test drove a stock E55 awhile ago and there was a huge differance.

I sort of hope thats it. Part of me wants to believe that thats why I lost to a regular vette. And part of me wants to believe I didn't get ripped off from the previous seller. We will see as I have an appointment to get it dyno'd at 9 A.M. tomorrow.

i dont get it. you say you lost to a "regular" vette. what does that mean? stock? if he has shed 200lbs and added 4:10s and has 400+rwhp he prob has some nice go fast mods. could have been an 08 vette with a few mods, they will run with a zo6. i could understand your question if you lost to a stock regular c6 vette, but a modified "regular" c6 is no joke.

I think it was the gears it was from a rolling start so the torque wasn't as big of an issue.

a modded regular vette with intake, tune, exhaust, cam would run with a zo6 in a straight line+he has 4:10s and -200lbs.(i had a regular c6(auto) with cai, headers, tune that went 12.40's on 20'' street tires.) just noticed he is 1200lbs lighter than you, but you have prob another 150rwtq over him which should have made it a close race. who knows.

I'm glad to hear that at least I didn't lose to a slow car even if it is a chevy.

V12-Biturbo
I recently sold my reg C6 she was an Automatic 4 speed, Headers, CAI, 160 stat, cat-back, dyno tune, 3.90 gearing which is = to 4.10's on the manual 6 speed.

I laid to waste many a car w/her 410 rwhp, though I doubt I could've taken down a heavily modded E55 211 like yoursDepends on what type of race? I think from 1/4 the E55 would take her, but a roll-on the freeway she whipped *** on a brand new M5 by multi-lengths.

Although w/traction the modded C6 is a beast, I modded my old C6 after a guy on the East Coast he ran a best of 11.18 @ 122-123 mph if memory serves me correctly

Our only differences was he had a stall converter (very helpful down the 1/4, in automatics, but he was only running 3.73's vs my 3.90's & in PM's he told me If I could get traction the cars were prolly very close)

Or maybe the fact that you have a REGULAR C6!!!! & NO Z06!!!! would be the reason you'd be saying this ----

Dude you are pathetic!!! I caught your pic's of your WIDEBODY C6, & asked you months ago "What the badging was on your C6 ?" You didn't have Z06 brakes, you quickly PM'd me a picture of your REGULAR C6 w/just a close-up of an LS2 badge/emblem, and you wrote they initially put on Z06 badging to cover the holes in the fenders.

And that you had since put the LS2 badging on, I guess since you NEVER changed the badging it automatically became a REAL Z06 LOL!!

Do you want to come clean now? or should I post up your Private Message to me on the LS2 badging? Damn it's losers like yourself that start threads like this! You've probably been rollin' your FAKE Z06 badged widebody w/REGULAR C6 brakes trying to race AMG's & Lambo's P-cars etc... & making an *** outt've yourself!!!

So I don't break the user agreements rules I'll just post the title of your PM to me!!

There's your problem right there. He knew what he was doing for sure.

Next time, try him from a dig. Unless he's got a barrel of VHT in the trunk that he can throw down on the pavement, he ain't going anywhere fast with 4.10's on street pavement from a stop.

You get a good launch and you at least will make it interesting.

From a roll, you had no chance.
