It was the Vert version, and we were on the 101 racing then hit the 405, everytime I pulled him by multi-lengths, maybe he didn't know where his 500hp button was located lol, I even snapped a few camera phn shots as he did the fly-bye when race was over.

Chk it out in the "Kill sect" search Thericker's glory days of thunder..lol

My old C6 only had cat-back & torque management removal at the time of my race & loss to Vadims parents E55 211. She was very fast after mods above.

Ah the 'vert. Yep it's a pig that weighs 500pounds more. Even so, good kill and you really know how to get the best out of your cars

Any SL600 kills? You modded her yet

NO mods yet...but coming soon

Funny w/the C6 it was like "Draggin a dollar bill thru a trailer park" I got challenged daily But w/the SL600 it seems like I have to be an *** to get something goin.

Although the other day I was driving a friend to lunch, we hit the 101 freeway in SB, (my bro hadn't been in her yet, so naturally I leaned on it hard) Didn't notice the squid in the hopped-up Fart-can propelled Lexus IS-300?? trying to catch me, we slowed to let him catch up, got even then hit the loud pedal.

Just MASSACRED the guy, alas traffic thickened ahead we were side by side again we dropped the windows to give him thumbs-up, he wouldn't return the gesture & my bro (250lb bodybuilder ex-cop) says "Pass him again" as we do we both stick our arms out the windows giving him DUALLY thumbs-down ala Siskal & Ebert style (sp)

A stock 08 C6 is pretty darn quick. Low 12's, even high 11's is certainly in the ball park. Sounds like he had mild mods.

Not sure what you think is wrong with a Chevy. My 08 C6 convertible sits proudly in the garage next to my E55. They're both incredible cars for the purpose for which they are intended.

Not like Mercedes makes anything that matches up with the C6 price/performance.

I love my Vette! It's my third one.

I also have to say that the vets are no joke. From what i have seen they are beasts when modded...owners tend not to reveal what they have, but also very dangerous cars!

My bad....it was an "M6" here I doug up my old thread in the kill section...
Here's a link to the entire thread...+ Carl L. said the M6 Vert only weighed 400lbs more while I found it weighed 500lbs from autotrader who knows the exact #? https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...light=m6+vs+c6

What do I see a new quad tipped BMW M6!!!! convertible, looked like a middle eastern guy in his 40's by himself, we are cruising along at 70mph in light to heavy traffic, I want this race!!! I drop to 3rd & throw some revs he looks over (No tint on his windows) he gives me a look like kinda shrugs and a little laugh, I figure NO GO? & pull ahead slightly & settle in @ 80ish about 1 minute goes by & he tries to pull a fly-bye!

I'm still in 3rd gear & ready to go as soon as he's about 1/4 length ahead I put the peddle to the floor & to my amazement reel him in & pass him at a nice pace (NO walk) I continued to pull 6-7 lengths on him till traffic safety became a major concern, I'm thinking "No way he must of lifted or somethinng?" so I let off @ speeds better left for PM's

He goes flying by at 1xx mph so he was obviously trying, I wanted to make sure though so I tailed him until traffic opened up, then wham he hits it! I'm right there pulling hard right behind in the same lane (No doubt he had it floored) & I literally had to lift off the gas so I wouldn't run him down!!!!

We did this 4 times until traffic was stupid busy, I let off after beating him EVERY TIME & he flips out like a crazy teenager weaving in & out of lanes cutting off everybody, at that point I obviously let him go & have his imaginary win.

I shot 5 crummy camera phone pic's sorry it was the best I could do at the time, (1) as I was flying past him, the rest were hard to get as he morphed into a ricer, but NO doubt it was an M6 I saw it clear as day when I 1st spoted him.

I even called The-Juice-aka Josh to tell him afterwards, I was like a little kid @ Christmas time

I was freaking out!! I knew my new mods made a big difference but all the Gustav stories had me still fearing these beasts, they lack torque from 65-135 km's lol I pulled rediculously on him...

Maybe he couldn't drive? maybe he didn't hit the extra 100hp button? I doubt it though due to the speeds we hit, I doubt it was rebadged as it had the full M6 quad exhaust, & body kit, also was wearing normal CA plates not brand new off lot paper plates, so no break in period.

I'll even offer a challenge if it was a board member here, anytime you want a re-match I'm ready It is a beautiful ride & deff has better interior etc..LoL

1st pic as we are merging onto (405)

(1) Last pic as I flew by him....

2005 C6 w/A4 Automatic---- modds----3.90 gears Long tube headers, X-pipe, hi-flo cats, intake, CAI, cat-back, 160 stat, full dyno tune w/Torque Management removal, 345/30/19 Michelin pilots on 19x12 wheels, cosmetic Z06 rear 1/4 panels to fit 345's (405 rwhp) (394 rwto)

Back to the OP... seems like 200 lbs off a c6 is A LOT... did the guy strip the interior, or did he count the weight of ditching the runflats?

He didn't say what the took off. He just said he was alittle under 3000 pounds. And I looked up that they weigh 3175 pounds so thats how I got 200 pounds. Thats without him in it though. Also his car looked completely stock.

Total "whatever" on this post.

My E55 is stock and I have raced a stock C6 Z06 from a 40 MPH roll. It took him until my 2-3 shift (85-90 mph) to start pulling on me. If we would have started at lower speeds (like in the video) I think it would have been closer to maybe 100. No way his car what he says and or no way you have 496 rwhp.

The 4.10 gears are a bit of a joke, too. They help more coming out of the hole at the strip (with slicks) than most street races...

You've got a lot to learn, if 4.10's & 3.90's like I had in my C6 Auto only make a difference in launching per your infinite wisdom, why does the M5/M6 w/similar gearing dominate the highways? trust me it's not only the SMG trans it's the ----- Final drive ratio 3.62 :1 -----

SMG gear ratios - I/II/III 3.99/2.65/1.81 :1
SMG gear ratios - IV/V/VI 1.39/1.16/1.00 :1
SMG gear ratios - VII/R 0.83/3.99 :1

Compare these to your E55 Final drive ratio 2.65:1 / 2.20:1

Compared to the Z06 ----Final drive 3.42:1---- Transmission Tremec M6 6-Speed Manual
gear ratios 2.97:1, 2.07:1, 1.43:1, 1.00:1, 0.71:1, 0.57:1, :1

Also about racing a Z06 w/your outcome-------IT'S CALLED DRIVER INCOMPETENCE NOTHING MORE NOTHING LESS------Z06 will eat you alive from any speed when properly driven
