A simple ECU mod will get rid of that and congrats on popping the limiter cherry.

Most of the dealers don't listen to any instructions you give them. I have a computer-printed sign that I laminated that says "DO NOT WASH". I put it on the dash when it goes it, or else it comes back looking 10X worse than when I dropped it off. I swear they use the same wash-bucket and rags for a month at a time...
Same goes for ECU updates. I know several people with horror stories about the dealers re-flashing their ECU to do software updates, and deleting their expensive tuning. Maybe you guys should take my laminated sign idea and make one that says "DO NOT FLASH ECU" to go along with the "DO NOT WASH"...

Many E55's are out of warranty too, and especially the ones around here...lol...between the headers, pulleys, lowering, intakes, etc. that most people here have, I really doubt a dealer would have to dig as deep as an ECU tune to deny warranty coverage, if they were really looking for an excuse.
It really just boils down to whether your dealer is an azz or not...cause' if they are, then they will find an excuse to dick you around regardless of what mods are or aren't there.
But they will all still flash the ECU with whatever updates have been rolled out, as part of your scheduled service, though, unless you tell them not to. So that's really a separate problem that you have to address, unless you don't mind having to reprogram your ECU every time you let them touch it...
As to making friends with the techs, don't kid yourself. They know what side their bread is buttered on, and if the shiznit hits the fan and the dealer wants to play games with you, then they will have no choice but to rat you out for the aftermarket ECU tune.
if any of you know Ward Memorial Hwy, you know what a great stretch it is. so i hit hard and hit the end of the speedo...never been in any car at that speed in my life (used to ride a street bike and went 155 on it).
it was amazing, but my question is why no limiter? i assume the easy answer is that the previous owner had some ecu tweaking done. But, i bought the car CPO from MB dealership so I would think it would have been flashed back at some point.
input?

Reason for limiter is an outdated "gentleman's agreement" between MB, BMW and Audi. VW are part of this two but all they need is drag limiting to keep them below 155.
