ATTN TUNERS: program to cancel adaptives
i'd love (and pay for) it if the adaptives were only active in "c" mode but to have adaptives take over "s" mode is on a short list of dumb moves by mb/amg. afterall, "s" does stand for sport...right!?!?!?!
i can't be the only one who hates the b.s. sneaky ecu reset or having to disconnect the battery to get rid of the adaptives every other day so that my passing gear kick down works when i want it to.

seriously
This would be one of the must have mods!![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
I don't understand why Mercedes did it the way they did. I'd much prefer to just switch to S and have it on a permanently aggressive setting.

Benz programming clubs are like cracking Ft Knox unfortunately.
Awhile back I tried to even get into the flashing aspect of it hoping to eventually work into cracking and custom programming these mysterious ECU's. Ran into non-stop roadblocks and paranoia so much along the way, I just gave up. It's like NOONE wants to help you (understandably as it would hurt their flashing biz), still really pis-ses ya off. Had a whole bunch of guys even offer to sell me units but I would only be able to purchase THEIR ecu programs and flash them to my car and was told straight up the programs would be so coded, I would have no hope of hacking them for my own gain.
Never have seen anything like it.
I only wanted to get into the biz to solve some of our age old problems like this one here.
Never wanted to make Renntech type money off it.
Alas, it wasn't meant to be and "the man" won out.
Bummer.
(quick note, this rant does not represent VRP or Kleemann at all. I was on tuner forums and talking to various chip flashing unit dealers in Europe and you'd think I was getting into selling herion of something. The secrecy, the covert emails, the constant questioning of what my intentions were. Sheesh....)

And the limiters on in "C" and off in "S"

I've also been very annoyed by this adaptation feature since my first AMG. Just like you, I don't mind it on the C mode because I understand they're trying to the ride as comfortable as possible. But once I hit that Sport mode, I want the car to be tuned for maximum performance. I want the shifts to be extremely fast regardless of previous driving and I want all other electronics to be primed for max performance.
It's almost like having an AMG button like the M button in BMW cars. I understand that once that M button is clicked, the car goes into super performance mode: it stiffens the suspension, preps the rear diff, maximize shift times, the seats hug the driver more tightly, etc.....
AMG, if you're reading this...... we need an AMG button that provides max performance; no adaptations and no compromise.

Well,
in the W210 it was described as "standard". In the W211 the manual says "sport mode" but for "standard driving". We're getting closer.

I sent these guys, http://www.evc.de/en/ , a note inquiring about their products a while back but they replied saying "we only suppy tuning companies". I thought maybe I could pick something up for experimenting.

From the maual:
S = Sport/Normal mod
C= Comfort
Comfort mode C is characterised by the following:
the vehicle pulling away more gently in forward and reverse gears, unless the accelerator pedal is depressed fully.
an increase in traction. This improves the driving stability of the vehicle on slippery road surfaces, for example.
the automatic transmission shifting up sooner; consequently, the vehicle is driven at lower engine speeds and the wheels are less likely to spin.
****
If I remember correctly, C starts the tranny in second gear, S in first. C used to be called "W" for winter mode.
