The car ended up selling for $44k
On another note... Cylinder; I gotta ask bro- what is the sig all about??

Here's what I'd do if I were you
Call the cops, tell them you hear gunfire
Before they come, bust into the place wearing a skimask
Place cocaine everywhere and shoot the dogs
And then go home and finish your conference call
Make sure you take the skimask OFF when you come home. I've seen it before. Definitely a forum members'.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
No joke! I guess there's one born every minute... you just wouldn't expect it to be some dealer buying at an auction
I found the old thread. Turns out, it's a 55 not a 63. The old owner just changed the badging...

I hope whoever bid at the auction popped the hood first, or they're in for a nasty surprise. At $44k, they paid right around full-value for a CLS55 with those miles. Except, this one has a salvage-title and lemon history, not to mention the extensive repairs someone will have to do. I don't understand this sale at all...

Burn that car!!!
It's been beat to heck, whether by the owner or by continued failure due to the fact that it's a lemon. What a sweet deal the person purchasing this 5k lb paperweight got. Guess it's the risk you take when you buy auctioned cars.

And someone mentioned it is a 55 badged as a 63. Come on, an AMG is an AMG, but a 55 is not a 63.

I guess what really made me think that is I can't understand why the hell would anyone buy a CLS55 for $44k from an insurance auction (which 100% guarantees a salvage title), and especially one with $10k in damage and a lemon history, when you can get one with similar mileage, a perfect history, clear title, and a warranty for almost the same money on ebay?
That made me think it was badged as a "63". People screw up like that at auctions all the time if they're lazy...your bid is a binding contract, but you don't normally get the paperwork until after you win, and some peeps are lazy and skip the inspection period. That's the only way I can comprehend the price, since that car is really worth maybe 1/2 what it sold for.
It has totally screwed up the idea of getting salvage cars for super cheap money because they dont care about salvage and they damn sure dont care about carfax.
Also, due to the Dollar vs Euro all of our cars are on $ale..$$$$
