Hello, does anybody know if the exhaust size on 63s is the same as on 55K cars, that being 2.75 inches? Just curious...

Thanks!

HI
yes It is 2.75 I believe..

and not as sensitive to backpressure,as E55 so you can really go to a 3.25 or even 3.5 pipes from what I am told
usually you can go 1/2 inch larger with little problems.

are you thinking of modding your exhaust on your 63?

Why don't you go measure your 63 for him? That should be easy enough.

actually, my exhaust guy already checked it out for me when I upgraded my exhaust, and had the pipes off, and he told me that the stock MB is
2.25 and the AMG's are 2.75 since he does tons of them lol..

so there you go.

ever try to measure the inside of an exhaust pipe while its on the car and hot.. lol

bottom line its an approximation since actually the germans use metric and its in mm usually lol
around 69mm

but its close to 2.75
on AMG

hey ATK
wanted to ask you..how loud is your car with the sec cats removed,,
I still have mine but pondering about ridding them..

I have the same setup you do as far as X pipe and no RES,
but since upgrading to the higher flow mufflers, remus,
it is pretty loud as is, like 30% more than stock AMG,
do Im hesitating, to do anything with the 2nd cats, for fear of monster loud sound.. lol

mufflers make the biggest difference by far as did everything else before doing them and it was only like 10 % louder, but after I ditched the stock mufflers WOW

so wondering if your running stock AMG mufflers or have aftermarket ones..
cause the AMG ones are quieter than lots of aftermarket mufflers, so
changing the cats, could make it unbearable,,
when I had my exhaust tech hook up the BORLA to see what it sounded like holy ****, loud as hell , thought my fillings were gonna fall out LOL

curious what your thoughts were. and your muffler setup

thanks

Both 55s and 63 share the same exhaust sizing. Going any larger will not add any power.

Dual 2.75'' (70 mm) pipe can handle close to 1000HP.
