Secondary Air Injection valves...

Something just occured to me... if a Software change as per the dreaded Secondary Air Injection ECU flash can rob you of power surely modifiying these valves can result in gains..... ??

I remember the nay sayers having a pop at me about these but recently saw MKB as well as another tuner had modfied units too. Anyhow for those of you looking for that little extra maybe you should look into these.

And if you find out how they link it into the software to get it to work - I'd love to know too....

The secondary Air injection ecu flash was made to limit boost. The flash would cause the bypass valve to bleed boost. That is why some stock cars did not notice a loss of power. If you were modded via pulley you were in trouble.

Thanks!

Also heard the torque limiting issue on tranny is activated by a CAN bus
command from TCU to ECU where the ECU pulls timiing. Modded ECU''s are programmed to ignore this signal from the TCU.

TQ limiting is not just opening bypass valve. It is based upon load vs. rpm value. Depending on speed, rpm, load and throttle opening - DME will either bypass boost, cut timing or add fuel. In combination of those three.

I still do not know why anyone would offer new billet secondary valves. When I have more time, I will look into it deeper.
