New E55 Owner

New E55 Owner
After many sleepless nights I finally pulled the trigger on a 2006 E55. Before I post the details just want to give you a little background. I'm a long time
M5 owner. I have had 2 E39 M5's and am trading my E60 M5 for the E55. While I think the E60 M5 is a great car I think it is time to move on. As you know, the M5 is a monster on the highway at high rpm's but I drive locally most of the time and the 55 torque is what I need. Here are the details:
2006 Silver / Charcoal
Navi, Pano, Dyn. & vent Seats, electronic trunk, keyless go, sunshades.
No dist/parktronic
19K on the clock.
$47,500
In service 3/2006
It took me so long to make the decision the place I bought the car from actually sent the car to the auction today. It was set to go on the block tomorrow. They would not budge on 49,000 so I told them to take it to the auction. They called me this AM and lowered the price so I pulled the trigger.
Since the car is still at the auction site, I will not get it until Thursday. Of course pix to follow. I look forward to being an active member and leaning about the E class.... of course mods to follow. I'm thinking exhaust, ECU and pulley's to start. Windows are already tinted.

Good move. You definitely upgraded. You will prove that to yourself as soon as an M5 roles next to you and you find yourself looking at its headlights in your side view mirror. If you think the M5 was a beast on the highway, wait until you feel the E's torque at high speeds.
Once you go AMG you don't go back.
Congrats

Well almost a week later I'm still waiting to pick up my car. The underwriter from Chase that has my file has been out since last Wednesday on a family emergency and has not been back. The 55 has been sitting there just waiting for me. Hopefully the guy will be back tomorrow. I originally applied for the financing over 30 days ago and the approval expired..... I will post some pics once I get it (after a long drive of course)........

You are incredibly patient...I would have had his supervisor finishing this in a heartbeat.

Finally the new 55 is in my garage. I was sad to let the M5 go but I'm happy to have the E55. So far, so good. I took a ride to feel it out and then home to read over the owners manual so I have some idea what I'm doing. One thing is for sure, this car has A LOT of torque. It's just what I needed. The M5 was fast but in a different way. Most of my driving is local and the torque is a welcome addition. Anyway, pics will follow as soon as I get a moment.
