BMW is getting uglier and uglier. Sure they can be fast(er)? but you will never see me in that M5... that rear is just beyond ugly and looks like a combo b/w MBZ and Lexus. E39 M5 was the prettiest, but even the E60 isn't bad and can look VERY nice in certain colors and so forth - but this one? shoot yourself kind of style

My level of respect for BMW is slowly approaching zero. The new upcoming 7 series is just another example. Only that new concept vehicle thats covered in fabric is anything to drool over now.

MB is straight line performance and BMW is for handling...it's been that way for years and now this. BMW with a potential 5.5 liters and forced induction...i'm so dissapointed to hear M5 may have the superior hp numbers.

The M5 is so fugly it doesn't even deserve to be made IMO. I love the M5 for its engine and drivetrain along with its chasis refinement. Other than that, it doesn't hold a candle to a W211 or the new W212.

Bob thats not a bad start Hell I am ok with 550hp, just give me some TT and a better chasis please. I want some handling since the SL63 has spoiled me.

I'm curious as to how MB plans on extracting that extra power from the 6.2? By the way, a quick ECU tune on the twin turbo M5 and AMG is history.

when auto makers say 550 with turbo that means more power. look at the 335i 300hp it a lot faster than a car with 300. so that 550 make more than they say.

I'm not down with either one... I am madly in love with my w211 and the current M5. I don't think either company could possibly impress me at this point with styling or the engine. And I'm not talking about power, I'm talking about the engine.

E is hot!! I would buy one of those! The M is ehhh, not much difference and clearly going the direction of the 3 series...which is not good.

Not good? Are you kidding? The M3 is the most potent and complete 3 series M since the moniker began. Unlike in our AMG's, that screaming power plant was designed specifically for 'that' car. The 'one size fits all' mentality AMG has adopted for our power plants bores me and smells like marketing. And for the M3 to be able to keep itself reasonably close to the C63/E63 in straight-line warfare is nothing short of amazing. Put some lefts and rights on the sheet and it's a different story.

Still,... I plan on getting into either an E or C class AMG within the year. 'Til then, my C32 still thrills and satisfies me and leaves others wide-eyed and dumb-founded! Just wished I had the discipline to wait on the 2010 E

I'll reserve my judgment until the actual cars debut...

But I personally wouldn't mind it if the F10 5-series' design heads in the direction of the 3-series, especially of the E92 coupe; but of greater concern would be if the 5-series head in the direction of the F01 7-series. At least in pictures, the new 7 looks pretty brutal...
