ive got 50% on one of the other cars, pretty sick but i shouldve went with 35%
. i think 35% is perfect IMO. "persiangodfather" has windshield tint on his white E55, check his out.

Is there any specific reason why people tint their windshields of just for aesthetics? I would love to get a light tint to keep the interior cooler, but does it not make it more difficult to see at night?

for as cool as it looks...its really not worth it...i have heard stories of cops actually pulling u-turns on highly populated roads, just to give windsheild tint tickets. plus...if you ever get into any accident, you will vertually be at fault for any one of them, due to the fact that your vision would be impared. at the end of the day...tinted windshield looks tough, IMO...but not worth it..

I have a 35% tint on my front window and it is perfect. The rest of the car is 20%. I love how it cuts out the heat...

This is not a W211 E55, but I have my windshield tinted with 50% tint... only problem is that the registration stickers look real suspect...
Better to get pulled over at night because during the day they are not as "bright" as they should be...

I've got an appointment this friday to have my Z06 tinted 20% I want to do the windshield too but I'm afraid I'll have a hard time seeing at night. Is 50% a good compromise? or should I go lighter?

not a mercedes, but here's my M5 with 50% in the front. this is the first time i've tried it and i actually don't like it. lookswise it's not very noticeable, but it turns outward vision kind of hazy. i'm removing it this weekend. to each his/her own.

every one of my vehicles has a tinted windshield and I wouldn't have it any other way. It cuts down on the interior temps.
All my cars have 5% w/ 30% over it(side windows) and my windshields are 30%. You can't see past the steering wheel from the outside.
I once had 20% on the windshield of my Denali and you couldn't see in it at all. I loved it.
In Nevada they'll give you the ticket unless you want to take it off in front of them. I've got 2 tint tickets in the 12 years I've had super dark tint. I wouldnt worry too much.

Other than looks, the main purpose/advantage is that in warmer climates it helps to block out some of the sun's rays and keep your interior not only cooler but free of (less) cracks/warping on dash, seats, etc....... especially black vehicles.......
