05 e55 Wagon w/ 50K Miles on Ebay/CL - Buy it now $39.8K
There is an 05 wagon in the San Francisco Bay Area for sale.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Merce...spagenameZWDVW
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/car/734723063.html
The buy it now price is $39,885 and the car has 49,796 miles. The sticker under the hood shows a mfg date of 12/05 so it is closer to an 06 model? Aren't current model years released the previous year say around September? So wouldn't this be an 06? I haven't called the dealer yet nor looked at carfax but wanted to see what you guys think a fair offer would be. It will need a 3rd party warranty obviously and I'm a bit concerned about the mileage. There is one pending offer on ebay at this time. KBB shows $37.2K Trade in value in excellent condition and $31.9/$35.3 in Fair/Good. It's tough to get a handle on value since these wagons are few and far between - which can be good or bad depending on how one looks at it. I know KBB is behind a bit on pricing especially given the current economic state and price of gas.

?? The sticker has 12/04 on it - so it is, in fact, an '05

God I would love to get a wagon. Very few made in 05 or 06. Looks amazing... If you can get an extended warranty I say go for it. Not too often you come across one of these.

If you dont want it I have to convince my brother to get it. Buy it and keep it forever. Just like a good woman, but this good woman can get you hard in 4.2 Seconds

Wow, prices have dropped like a rock. I'd considered selling mine, but for less than $40K, it looks like I'll just keep it forever.
I do LOVE my E55 wagon.

I spoke to a guy who was selling his wife's 05 with 14K miles in Florida (no third row seat) - he was asking $50K. He has not gotten back to me, and his listing was pulled off CL so maybe he sold it.

Thanks Hammer. I haven't called him yet, but will try over the weekend if he is around. I live in S. Cal. If you are close swing by and let me know what you think - no need to go out of your way.

GET THE WAGON!!!! You will not regret it After you get it, get some mods from the reputable dealers and then look at the faces of corvettes, porsches and f-cars as you beat them!!!! It is priceless.
P.S. Just make sure you get a warranty. Good luck.

2006 E55 Wagon (RIP), 2019 E63S Wagon (Sold) 2023 AMG GT634S
I would ask if that is the original owner and then pay more to have them buy the MB extended warranty or the D-C warranty. Since only the original owner can buy a MB warranty, they'd have to be the one to do it - but you would then know that you are covered. I also think it has to be under 50K miles - so that's cutting it CLOSE.
I'd still say you want a warranty.

For whatever reason, the market has dropped. I've been watching the market recently and there are deals to be had. I will find out tomorrow the status.

Why not? Personally I'm not the kind of person who has to show off, and please dnt think that I'm mplying that you are. Its just that it already looks like a slow car to unsupecting people. Debadge it and smoke unsuspecting Porsches and Ferarri 575Ms.

laughable
If you guys want a real laugh....the dealer I've been chatting with regarding the C63 offered me 33k.....yes...33k.....for my 06 wagon....granted that was without seeing the car or anything but I laughed and said, "sure, when you drop that C63 to 30 for me"........
that's some depressing depreciation of a car that stickered at mid $90k's two years ago......no way I will dump it for that, I'd rather keep it until it doesn't drive anymore then give it away for that sort of cash

KBB used trade in value price for 06 e55 wagon
Excellent $48,275
Good $45,825
Fair $41,320
KBB used trade in value price for 05 e55 wagon
Excellent $42,025
Good $39,785
Fair $35,910
A more accurate way of determine pricing are by the actual auction prices. KBB is behind on the market and may not be factoring economic reality and current gas prices.

I just test drove it today and everything seem to be ok. There is some minor damage at the bottom of the front bumper (which they said that they would fix) and it needs a little detail job but other than that for 39K you can't find a better car.
